Come join a fun team of like-minded folks and share your love of cooking and mindfulness! As a Birthday Party Instructor, you will lead a small group of children in making artisanal chocolate or boba with mindfulness and care, and facilitate engaging activities like yoga, games, or storytelling.
Position Hours: On-Call, Weekends
Compensation: Hourly DOE
Required Qualifications and Experience
3+ years of experience or equivalent as a lead teacher in an elementary school setting.
Experience teaching any of the following topics: cooking, yoga, science, or outdoor education to elementary school-aged youth.
College degree in education or related field.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Commitment to providing an education experience that is child-centered, safe, and inclusive.
Ability to stay calm and keep your sense of humor in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to follow directions and to work in a team, as well as autonomously manage party logistics.
Confidence and ability to take initiative and have a leadership role.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, upbeat, positive, mature attitude and respectful communication approach.
Ability to do yoga poses and play active games with children.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn, and lift 25 pounds.
Experience in the kitchen and can follow a recipe.
Knowledge of farmers markets, sustainable cooking practices, breathing, yoga and meditation.
Fun party/camp talents such as games, storytelling, music, arts and crafts.
Food Handler Certified (reimbursed).
First Aid/CPR Certified (reimbursed).
