Weekend Childcare / Special Education Position (Antioch, CA)
We are seeking a responsible, patient, and caring excellent college student, early childhood educator, special education teacher, or experienced childcare provider to work with our wonderful 7-year-old son on weekends.
Experience in early childhood education, speech and language development, special education, ABA, occupational therapy, tutoring, or childcare is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
● Provide attentive supervision in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment
● Engage him in educational and interactive play
● Encourage conversational English throughout the day
● Read books, sing songs, and tell stories
● Participate in outdoor play, exercise, and age-appropriate sports
● Teach basic reading, writing, drawing, painting, and early math skills
● Help him build independence by teaching daily living skills, including:
● Brushing his teeth
● Taking a shower independently
● Cleaning up toys and books
● Wiping the table
● Sweeping the floor
● Organizing his room and belongings
Schedule
Summer
● Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
School Year
● Saturday: 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM
● Sunday: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
Additional hours may be available for the right candidate.
About Our Son
Our son is a happy, affectionate, energetic, and curious 7-year-old boy with a language development delay. He enjoys playing, singing, reading books, outdoor activities, and learning new things.
He currently communicates using single words, short phrases, and simple sentences, and he continues to make steady progress every day.
We are looking for someone who can help him:
● Expand his vocabulary and communication skills
● Develop social and conversational skills
● Build independence in daily routines
● Increase physical activity and confidence
● Learn through play, hands-on experiences, and positive encouragement
Our goal is to help him become a healthy, confident, kind, independent, and happy young boy.
Pay
● Experienced teacher, therapist, or special education professional: $45/hour
● Experienced childcare provider or excellent college student: $30/hour
