Hello,
My name is Cameron, I am on the Autism Spectrum, and I started drawing and designing characters in 2024 and I have taken an animation class from last June to December. But I feel I have not made much progress, and I feel lost regarding how to learn all of this despite my efforts. Especially as I am in my late 20s. I want to get better at poses, expressions, line work, and backgrounds. In addition, I have also been trying to read a book relating to animation and creating characters and have trouble understanding it and need someone to help me go through the exercises. As I am not great at teaching myself, I am looking for a tutor that specializes in animation and designing characters or even illustration. My goal is to bring my characters to life. As an Autistic, I really need some kind of structure or curriculum or anyone who could tell me if I am on the right track, what I am doing right or wrong, or what I can do better. I also want the sessions to include exercises instead of just discussions.
I strongly prefer in person, especially as I am mostly drawing on hand. Though I am planning to get into Procreate but I also need someone to help me smoothly transition from drawing on paper to drawing digitally. I have previously used Adobe Animate as a software for a class but I am not a fan if it. You can meet at my place, or I would be willing to travel to meet up. I'd be happy to discuss rates.
