I'm looking for a jack-of-all-trades right-hand person who thrives on variety and genuinely enjoys being helpful.
I'm a queer small business owner with ADHD running multiple lanes:
- An ADHD coaching practice
- A podcast about reclaiming attention in a world trying to steal it
- An indie rock music project
- A small dog boarding business
I need a partner who can help me manage my life so I have the space to actually focus on what I do best.
This role is mostly in-person at my home in Oakland near Dimond Park. A lot of what we do together will look like side-by-side work sprints and body doubling / co-working: showing up and doing things together, whether that's knocking out emails or running through a to-do list while I clean. If that sounds appealing rather than weird, we're probably a good match.
Starting rate: $20/hr
After a 2-month trial: $25/hr. From there, rate and hours grow in proportion to what my business is generating. I want to maintain transparency around that from the jump. My goal is to get us to 10 hrs/wk within a few months. I value this support immensely and want to pay someone well for their time -- just need to do it incrementally to be sure it's sustainable.
Starting hours: 6 hrs/wk ($120 venmo)
Split roughly between home/life support and business support.
Home and life admin:
- Tidying living spaces, floors, unloading dishes, putting away laundry
- Mowing the backyard every few weeks, occasional car cleaning
- Mail processing and general life admin
- Errands (getting my car smogged, picking something up from the store, etc.)
Business support (will train):
- Email outreach and inbox management (venue and press contacts, coaching clients, community)
- Social media scheduling and content repurposing
- Light Canva work if you're comfortable with it
- Helping turn educational content into other formats (audio, graphics, clips)
- Video editing is a bonus -- only if you enjoy it and are fast at it
- General coordination to support keeping me on track toward goals I've already set
What I'm really looking for:
Someone enjoyable to work with and great at communicating. I'm a very soft, conscious communicator who gives a lot of verbal affirmation. I'm looking for someone curious, proactive, and systems-minded. You notice things, ask good questions, and feel increasingly empowered to make suggestions and self-initiate. You're comfortable with a bit of chaos and can help bring order to it.
You'll need a reliable laptop and phone for the computer work we do together. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Notion, Claude.ai, Canva, email campaign software, and the usual social platforms is a plus. Don't be too intimidated if you're not familiar with all of these -- for a good match I'm happy to train on any software we use and don't expect perfection right away.
More than anything, this is about vibe match, brain compatibility, and reliability.
I also board dogs out of my home, so you need to be comfortable around them -- they'll be part of the environment. You won't be doing dog care (unless you're really into that), but they're always around.
About me:
I am non-binary, a musician, and an ADHD coach. I've been told I'm a pleasure to work with -- you'll rarely find me in a bad mood, and most certainly would never take it out on you if I was. I take this kind of partnership seriously. I want to compensate you fairly and grow this relationship over time as my business grows. I value transparency, communication, and mutual respect.
In my mind, this person becomes a genuinely important part of my life -- not just for task execution, but real partnership. There's a lot of opportunity to grow with me, if any of the lanes of my life seem appealing to you.
Are you my person?
Please respond with an email describing a bit about who you are, your resume and why you think this gig would be a good match for you.
ADHD tip: just in case it helps, don't overthink it or let perfect be the enemy of good when it comes to applying!
I don't care if your resume is perfectly formatted. I care about your values (free palestine, fk ICE), your aptitude, your enthusiasm, and if you genuinely see the potential in how it could be a good opportunity to advance your own goals in this one, wild, precious life.
