Hi! I am a disabled man living in Alameda, looking for personal care assistants to help a few times per day on a weekly basis. I have Multiple Sclerosis and use a power wheelchair for most of my mobility. I weigh over 250 lbs and require using a Hoyer lift to transfer. I just need to hire a couple kind folks to assist me in my home. Please respond with available hours shifts and contact info to set up an interview. Thanks for the help!
These are two different positions, one person to help Monday-Friday day shifts. One person to be able to help on Weekends both morning and evening shifts.
This is an active, hands-on type of job. You must be strong and able to assist with transferring (with Hoyer Lift). Prior personal care experience is required. Medical care experience is a plus, but not required.
Applicant Qualifications:
Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and an empathetic person eager to help.
Good communication skills (English)
You must be fully vaccinated including boosters (I am immunocompromised)
⚠️ Must have reliable transportation of their own
Currently enrolled with the California IHSS program as a provider.
The activities of daily living that I need assistance with include:
Bathroom Assistance (getting me on and off of the commode/toilet)
Showering and Bathing (getting me to/from shower chair and or bed baths)
Dressing/Undressing
Getting in and/or out of bed (via Hoyer Lift)
Stretching, Some Exercise
Light Cooking and Meal Preparation
Light House Cleaning (cleaners come biweekly)
Doing laundry when needed
Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment
