Camera Operator & Sound Recordist for Sex Ed Podcast- East Bay WANTED (hayward / castro valley)

I am are looking for an emerging Camera Operator and Sound Recordist. We are also looking to regularly borrow (about twice a month), 2 DSLR cameras and shotgun mics!
The purpose of Putita & Proud is to provide a welcoming and educational space where listeners can engage in open, honest conversations about sex, sexuality, gender, relationships, and identity. Hosted by Danny Ramirez (they/them/elle), the podcast aims to break down the stigmas and shame that often surround these topics by sharing real-life experiences and perspectives. The guests of my podcast will include friends from various intersections of life and experts within the industry of sexual health and sexuality. Guests will generally be local with a goal to expand further. The goal is to educate while also fostering curiosity, empathy, and a sense of community among listeners. With a mix of candid storytelling (juicy sexcapades), expert insights (misconceptions about sex), and interactive activities (collaborative drawing, would you rather, etc), Putita & Proud invites listeners to explore these vital topics from a place of openness and vulnerability, encouraging them to challenge norms and embrace the complexity of human nature.
My ideal collaborators are interested in sex education and are aligned in uplifting marginalized voices, intersectionality, disability justice, equity, and allowing people the room to grow. They are excited about building their experience and portfolio in a project that aligns with their interests.
This is a passion project in its early stages, and while it’s currently unpaid for everyone involved—including myself—my vision is to grow it into something sustainable and profitable over time. To begin, we’ll film a short trial episode, then move into filming the first three episodes over the course of 1–2 months (no more than four sessions, depending on availability). Having three episodes ready allows us to honor life’s ebbs and flows while keeping the project steady—we plan to release two episodes a month.
Recordings will happen in my cozy home office, where I’m building a welcoming set, and I’ll have water and snacks on hand. As a disabled creator, I deeply value accessibility and care, and I’m committed to creating space that uplifts our full selves. I especially welcome QTBIPOC and folks from marginalized communities to reach out—this project is for us.
