Built on December 22, 1965, not much is known about the cars early history. The car was purchased in 1994 by a car collector in Alamo, CA, and then traded to the Blackhawk Collection as part of a multi-car deal. Midwest Car Exchange sold the car in 1995 at 63,491 miles to a Corvette Collector in Cary, IL. The car was purchased by the current owner in Napa, CA in 2016.
Shortly after purchasing the car, the current owner had Corvette Express in Vacaville, CA, go through the car and replace several seals and gaskets along with rebuilding the Muncie transmission, at a cost of $5,800.
The current owner also fitted the car with a new set of Coker Goldline radial tires in 2018 in addition to a rebuilt carb, new differential mount/seal/oil, new belts, new steering gear box, new master cylinder and brake fluid flush. The owner has spared no expense in maintaining the car as a turn-key sunny day driver.
The exterior of the Corvette is in good condition with nice paint and chrome trim. There are some hairline stress cracks on the body, and a few cracks/lifting in the paint near the base of the windshield on the driver’s side. There is also a 1-inch square section of paint missing on the left rear of the car. The hardtop and soft top are both in very good condition.
The interior is in great condition – the black vinyl interior is beautiful and is enhanced by an optional teak steering wheel, functional clock and a restored gauge cluster.
The Corvette starts with no issues or smoking, and settles easily into a steady, rumbling idle from the side exhaust. There are a few small area of oil seepage under the engine and differential due to the vehicle not being driven frequently. The engine revs willingly, with 425 horsepower on demand and direct shifts from the 4-speed Muncie transmission. The suspension is tight and the steering is direct. The brakes stop the car firmly.
I can assist with any PPIs / inspections/ test drives. The car is located in Napa, CA.
I have a Flickr account with over 600+ photos and several videos of the car. If you are interested in the car, please DM and I can share more information with you.
I'm selling this car for my friend who has owned this car for 5 years, and has driven it sparingly under his ownership. The reason the owner is not listing the car himself is that he quite frankly doesn't have the patience for all the questions that this type of car generates. Since I'm facilitating the sale (and I've owned 5 Corvettes personally) I'm assisting with all pre-sale / post sale details.
For any out of state buyers, I can assist with the shipping logistics.
