This is not a fancy car. This is not a fast car. This is not a high tech car. This is not a new car (purchased new in August 2011).

What this car is: a functional, reliable, well-cared-for car that has been perfect for me and my family for years. Subaru is well known for producing cars that - when maintained properly - seemingly last forever. I have driven this car around town, on road trips of thousands of miles, on dirt roads, on camping trips, and in the snow, and it never let me down. IMHO, this would be a great car for anyone, but maybe especially good for a young person heading off to college?

When purchased, the following extras were included:
- “All-weather package” (heated front seats, windshield wiper de-icer, heated side-view mirrors)
- Media hub/audio streaming (see #3 below)
- “Popular equip group 1b” (auto-dim mirror/comp/homelink, security sys shock sensor)
- Rear bumper cover

Is anything wrong with this car? Yes.
1. A few people nudged it either with their door or fender in parking lots or on the street and didn’t bother to take responsibility.
2. The paint is flaking/peeling in various places. (Note: I’m convinced that the car’s appearance because of #1 and #2 has contributed to the car never being broken into or stolen - there are always other vehicles nearby that would likely net a thief better results.)
3. The USB port in the center console stopped working about 7-8 years ago. If you are good with wires, you could probably fix it.
4. The power windows have occasionally not worked for a few minutes. Pressing the buttons repeatedly for several seconds seems to wake them up. A person I know knowledgeable of these cars told me it’s a common issue. To be fair, this hasn’t happened in a few months, so maybe it’s fine now?
5. The HVAC system works, but I’m not convinced the air is always completely directed to the applicable vents. But foggy windows do clear, it cools you down on a hot day, and warms you up on a cold day.
6. There are a couple of holes in the driver’s floor mat.
7. There’s a small spot on the windshield where a rock hit it several years ago.
8. To one previous potential buyer's surprise, it may need repairs at some point in the distant or not too distant future. Everything (except as noted above) works just fine now, but it's 14 years old. That's why used cars cost less than new ones 😀.
9. A spider lives inside the driver’s side-view mirror. Not sure what he catches to eat there. It is what it is.

I have detailed records of every tank of gas, every oil change (almost all of which I did myself), every maintenance task, every repair, etc. It was in a fender bender accident back in December of 2013 - I have all the paperwork of the repairs that were done.

The tires are almost new. The battery is new.

I just completed all of the 120,000 mile maintenance items (some were done a while ago; some just the past few weeks). It just passed the bi-annual smog check on the first try. Again.

I’m including a few items with the car that are of no use to me any longer:
1. Ski rack that fits on the roof rack.
2. Tire chains (the National Parks require that even AWD vehicles carry chains in winter).
3. Leftover (new) engine oil - I bought an EV, so won’t be changing oil any longer.

I’m asking $7,900. I have the pink slip (and know where it is!), so the transaction will be easy.
