After nearly 5 years of ownership, I need to pass along this S2000 to the next person who will enjoy it as much as I did. Sappy S2000 owner statement: Honestly, this is an amazing car that I'll likely try to re-purchase in 10 years but at this point in my life (growing family, new job in town) I need one less car to simplify things. I am in no rush to sell it, as it has only been a weekend car for me the last year, and I'd like to find the right buyer for it. I think my price is fair - if you think it should be higher or lower, we can talk in person about that but I won't accept bids over email (insert typical craigslist statement about spam). Old copy of Carfax and VIN available upon courteous request.
I'll repeat many common themes of S2000 owners but here are the highlights:
Clean title in hand and passes smog
All original (except for stereo and K&N air filter)
No mechanical issues - engine pulls strong, VTEC engages, no clutch slip
Always in covered park/garage
Never been on the track
Low mileage - I've only averaged 5k/year while I owned it
All work (only fluids) has been done at dealership using Honda full synthetic oil and OEM diff, brake, transmission fluid.
Car has never been in an accident or had serious repairs in the last 12 years - I can provide a Carfax from when I bought it and all paperwork for my ownership time.
S2000 soft-tops are notorious for rips at the rear corners. This car is no exception but diligent observation and minimal patching have stabilized these and are waterproof. I typically have to sew up and patch a new tear twice a year. All previous patches have held well. (see pictures)
Front nose has suffered from road debris and the paint is no longer perfect (see pictures). That said, it still looks amazing for a 15 year old car.
Very small imperfections in the paint in ~5 other spots around the car that only you, as the new obsessive owner, will notice.
Rims are in good shape but show signs of curb rash (I think I was responsible for only 1 or 2 of these instances)
Tires are in okay shape; brakes are in good shape; observable fluids look good but an oil change in the next few months is on the to-do list.
For about three of these years I was obsessive over statistics of my driving. I averaged 28.6 MPG during this time doing 1/2 highway driving, 1/2 surface roads.
OEM car cover (used regularly by myself) and tonneau (never used) are included.
OEM stereo was replaced by previous owner and not included.
