Under the hood, the A3 block is paired with a K20Z3 head sourced from an 8th-gen Civic Si, improving airflow and allowing for higher RPM capability. Complementing the head swap are Skunk2 Stage 1 cams, which enhance throttle response and broaden the powerband. The intake manifold has been upgraded to a Skunk2-style performance unit, and the exhaust system was replaced with a Skunk2 exhaust to help the engine breathe more efficiently. Fuel delivery was also increased with 450cc injectors to support the added airflow. A K-Pro ECU ties the setup together, providing full tuning flexibility. After tuning, the car produced an impressive 178 whp and now pulls strong to an 8,000 rpm redline—a significant improvement over the stock configuration.
Weight reduction was another key focus. A majority of the interior has been removed, dropping the factory curb weight from roughly 2,780 lbs down to around 2,600 lbs. This reduction gives the car a noticeably sharper and more agile feel behind the wheel. Despite the stripped interior, the car still retains factory heat and A/C, keeping it usable and comfortable for street driving.
