This is a dependable and well-loved (even has a name: “Mateo”) Toyota Matrix with 187,500 miles, it is smogged and registered through August 2026, ready for an easy transfer to a new owner.
Details:
Runs smoothly: automatic transmission, AC, heat, radio, lights, and wipers all fully functional.
Interior: minor wear; seats and surfaces in good condition with some staining but no rips or tears.
Value: 2010 Matrix cars in top shape with similar mileage in the Bay Area are listed for $6,000–$9,500. This car is well-loved. It was my teenager’s learn-to-drive-car and she used it through the end of her Bachelor’s degree. We bought it in 2018 and are the second owners. She’s in grad school now and needed something a bit newer. Bringing this car fully to tip-top condition would likely cost $1,160–$2,600, depending on whether repairs are done at a shop or DIY, and whether parts are OEM or aftermarket.
