First the good, This 1991 Alfa Rome Spider Veloce convertible has a gorgeous red finish with a tan leather interior and matching cover for the BLACK convertible top. It has a 3-speed automatic transmission that purrs like an Italian car should with its classic lines that always turns heads. The convertible top appears new as it has rarely been used. The chrome rims with the Alfa logo leaves a lasting impression on all who sees the car. In 2015, I paid to have the water pump, serpentine and all the belts and fluids replaced as well as replacing 2 thermostats (this had 2!) which fixed the cooling system. Also bought Yokohamas for it (Pirelli doesn't make the tire size for it anymore) at the same time and only put maybe 300 miles into it because I only drove it two days this year.
Now, the-not-so-bad. The dash readings are not functioning. Speedometer has never worked and the tach stopped working a few years ago. The odometer is frozen at 12,000. I suspect that it's been in an accident before as the color of the hood is the slightest shade different from the body. Regardless, it does NOT have a salvage title. I paid for a VIN check in 2003 when I bought it and it reflected the odometer reading being off. I didn't care as it has never compromised the functionality of the car. Because of this, I’m selling this car lower than it probably should be sold for. Love the car but I’m getting to the point where my responsibilities at work are now keeping me from paying more attention to it. Needs a new home where it can be loved.
