In a city that pioneered the Free Speech Movement and birthed the underground press, we know that how we communicate is just as important as what we say. Today, our voices are mediated by algorithms and owned by platforms. I’m launching Terrapin Post to take the conversation back to the streets—and the mailboxes.
This is a monthly snail mail club rooted in the Berkeley spirit of the 60s and 70s: radical DIY creativity, anti-digital connection, and the belief that "small is beautiful." We aren't just sending letters; we are building an analog commons.
I’m looking for founding members who feel the weight of the "digital void" and want to push back. Every month, members receive a curated envelope that feels like a discovery from a Telegraph Avenue bookstore. Expect:
The Terrapin Newsletter: A monthly dispatch on art, sustainability, and slow living.
Tactile Ephemera: Mini-zines, hand-stamped stickers, and vintage-inspired paper.
Ecological Intent: Wildflower seed paper to scatter and heal our local soil.
Human Connection: Postcards and prompts designed to be shared with friends and strangers alike.
This is a community-funded passion project. No trackers, no data mining, no ads—just paper, ink, and genuine intention. If you prefer the smell of a used bookstore to the glow of a smartphone, you belong with us.
We are building the waitlist now for our first official "mailing." Let’s keep the analog dream alive in the East Bay.
