Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good.
The poster had creases, scuffs, and fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds, with some creases and scuffs around the edges and in the solid colored areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
The poster is a standard one-sheet size at 27”W x 41”H. The linen backing adds a boarder, which makes the overall size 28 7/8” W x 42 5/16” H.
Linenbacking is a process that is used to preserve vintage posters. Restorers also de-acidify the poster during the restoration process. It is usually easier to display and less expensive to frame a linenbacked poster. When done correctly, with poster restoration, it adds to the value of the poster.
