This gorgeous micro-shearling sheepskin coat is made in the USA by New York-based Blue Duck Shearling. It is in like-new condition, having been worn a mere handful of times and located in a smoke-free, pet-free home.
The soft, supple outside sheep skin is a very deep chocolate brown (the photos likely make the coat appear lighter in color than it is: think 75% chocolate bars, or a double shot of espresso!), and the inside shearling fur is black. The black shearling is also visible on the stand-up collar, the turnback cuffs, and the bottom edge (the ’sweep’) of the coat. The coat has two slash pockets. It is lightweight yet cozily warm.
Here’s some information about shearling, quoted from the Blue Duck Shearling company’s website:
"Even a novice can easily recognize a fine quality garment with a few easy tips. It is important to look for uniformity of color and texture. A single shearling coat is made from between 7 and 18 individual skins. Always look for evenly matched quality throughout the garment. The outside should be smooth and uniform and the wool or fur on the inside should be dense, silky and smooth."
This coat meets these high standards with flying colors and must be seen, touched and worn to be fully appreciated.
