Hard to do but putting up my Striper 2601 after 7 awesome years of fishing the SF Bay, Farallon's, Marin coast, Fort Bragg and Catalina. This boat has done everything I've asked of it with ease and brought me home safe even on a few days I probably shouldn't have been offshore. With a huge 160 gallon tank (2005-2006 only) and V8 power (270hp) the Volvo Penta 5.0 GXI paired with a stainless bladed Duo-Prop on a deep V hull makes quick work of most conditions experienced in the SF Bay and out the Gate with range to spare. Fiberglass hull and transom eliminates concerns around wood rot. Boat gets on plane promptly, cruises comfortably at 30 knots, and tops out at around 40 knots. Over $32k spent earlier this year alone on a repower, completely rebuilt 5.0 GXI (bored .30 over, new rings/pistons, bearings, heads, water pumps, exhaust manifolds upper/lower, cap, rotor, plugs, injectors seals, freeze plugs, starter, flex plate, pan, thermostat housing / thermostat, motor mounts etc.) coupled to a brand-new DP-SM outdrive and rams all installed by Helmuts Marine. Cabin is cherry. Also added a new Garmin 10" chart plotter GPSmap XSV and transducer. Boat comes with a tandem axle DHM trailer for fish you need to drive first to get to. About 10 hours on fresh motor and outdrive, not sure if Helmut's warranty is transferable but I can check.
