The Eagle and the Elephant, combines historical and contemporary texts and illustrations to tell the story of Thai-American relations from 1833 to the present. It serves as history, reference, and guide to the scope of Thai-American contacts and cooperation, commencing with the 1833 Treaty of Amity and Commerce. It is a good introduction to the history of bilateral relations between the United States and Thailand, and references source material which can be pursued for more detailed study. This book has a limited publication.
Since the book is bilingual, with parallel texts in English and Thai, it can be used as a tool for reading and translation practice for English speakers learning the Thai language, or for Thai speakers learning English.
