I built this bike up from the frame planning to use it myself, but unfortunately it ended up being too small for me - so my loss is your opportunity. This is a beautiful lightweight frame from 1993, built using ritchey logic tubing on both the frame and the fork - the build is geared as a city cruiser, but would also fit nicely as a light bikepacking rig. Updated with a tasteful blend of new and vintage parts: using the original stem (with an added extender to fit it for taller riders), as well as original shimano deore lx front and rear derailleurs, and crankset. Rides brakes and shifts super smooth, ready to roll!
Sizing:
top tube: 23.5" center to center
standover: 32"
as is (with the stem extender) this would probably be a good fit for someone ~5’10” and down to 5’6” without the extender (I’d estimate- probably should base this off of your own standover height)
parts top to bottom:
Shifters updated to microshift bar-ends
avid fr-5 brake levers
nitto losco handlebars
deathgrip grips modified to be bar-end shift compatible
velo orange front rack - get that weight in fron of ya!
new 10 speed shimano xtr titanium cassette
vintage 26" wheels, freshly trued and freehub body swapped to be 8-9-10 speed compatible! no need to seek our vintage or low production cassettes
new maxxis DTH tires 26"x 2.25"
MKS lambda pedals
note, this is a vintage mountainbike and was ridden as one, there are small spots of rust pitting, however none that is structural and the entire frame was cleaned and treated with a wax top coat prior to this build.
