This is a dedicated single speed with a front brake fitted. The brake setup is self contained so you can just unbolt the lever from the handlebar and the brake caliper from the fork. Then you can go race it at the velodrome. I don't live near a velodrome anymore nor can I really live with only one fixed gear under my knees, so off it goes. Speedplay pedals shown are not included in the sale.
Custom made aero fixie from a master framebuilder. The frame alone would cost $1800 today without any of the custom tubing this one has. Steel. It was custom built by Don Walker. It was a former show bike showcasing his framebuilding talents. Mix of stiff track tubing with wishbone rear seat stays and aero top and down tubes. Properly stiff for track sprints, yet pretty compliant over little road bumps when I've used it for on road fixie training. Laser straight and fast on the track and zero flex under load.
Has a 167.5 7400 DuraAce crankset. Look carbon ergo post. Ritchey road bars on Easton stem. Supakush bar tape. Brake is a recent Sora...stops hard.
Wheels are basic Weinmann track wheels with rear flip flop hub if you want to run a freewheel in the back.
Specialized race seat. Chris King black 1" headset. Fork is Columbus Max tubing for stiffness where it's needed.
