Here is why you are doomed to fail when buying shelving:
1. You don't know the difference between INDUSTRIAL duty and COMMERCIAL duty shelving that fails.
2. Since your nick-name is "low buck Chuck" you don't take into account the fact that there is a whole warehouse above your 6' high shelving that you are already paying for but it goes to waste because you just want the lowest price for the smallest shelving.
3. You don't pay attention to capacities of the shelving when comparing prices. And as soon as you overload the cheap commercial duty shelving it collapses.
4. You forget that there is a resale value to your shelving if it is in good shape. But you let your shelving deteriorate by climbing the shelves without a ladder and since no one will buy bent shelving you have to trash yours.
5. You don't know what it costs to drive to Los Gatos to pick up 1 section of used shelving when you are located in Concord. If you had checked what it costs you wouldn't have gone. The cost of gas and wear and tear on your car is $244 + 3 hours of your valuable time (let's say $25/hr. = $75 working at McDonalds) to drive there and back. That's a total of $319 over the price of $175 = $569 vs. my price of the new industrial shelving at $482 with a capacity of 500 lbs./shelf. You bought used shelving for $569 which is $87 more than my new shelving that is located in Martinez only 10 miles away from you.
6. Did you ever notice that rich people buy quality shelving, cars, homes, and t.v.'s which cost more but they last longer, are easier to use, have guarantees, are easily financed and they can resell them easily regaining at least half their value at the time of sale.
7. I used to have a boss who said, "Why is it that we never have time to do it right the first time but we always find the time to do it right the second time costing us a lot of wasted time and money?"

Almost everyone wants used pallet racks. Used pallet racks hardly ever will pass the code requirements for seismic design because they were made before current revised safety codes were made. And since CAL-Osha is the safety code of California which requires all pallet racks to be permitted and seismic design, USED PALLET RACKS ARE ILLEGAL if they won't pass for seismic design in CA. The same goes for Chinese made pallet racks which have no quality control of their steel. No engineer will put his wet stamp on the calculations necessary to get your permit. Therefore, CHINESE MADE PALLET RACKS ARE ILLEGAL. Also, pallet racks from catalogs made outside of California are not seismic design so PALLET RACKS BOUGHT THROUGH CATALOG HOUSES ARE ILLEGAL. Do you want to know which pallet racks are legal in CA? NEW PALLET RACKS MADE IN CALIFORNIA ARE LEGAL IF YOU GET THE NECESSARY PERMIT. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PERMIT THE PALLET RACKS ARE ILLEGAL. That's right. You have to prove your pallet racks can withstand the strongest earthquake in your fault zone with your loads on them. We can provide that proof in the form of California structural engineer's calculations with their wet stamp backing up the calculations.
We also sell warehouse STRUCTURAL CANTILEVER RACKS for pipes, moldings, lumber, rods, anything too long for pallet racks. (Keep in mind that pallet racks come as long as 12' and there are a lot of wood lengths that can be stored on the less expensive pallet racks up to 12' long saving you money. And you can store longer than 12' on the top level of pallet racks.) The cantilever racks range in size from 8' high to 20'h x 18" deep to 4-6'd. They come in single side or double side uprights. Bracing is 2'-10' wide. Arms can be straight or slanted, and with or without lips to keep things from rolling off. Call for pricing.
How do you get your forklift from the ground to your warehouse or factory dock or the bed of a truck? Use a MOBILE YARD RAMP. They roll around to various locations and can be towed by your forklift. They adjust in height with the use of a pump handle. They have different capacities for whatever you need and various lengths to fit any situation. The level off feature at the top end is needed to see where your forks are headed in the truck to load or unload.
Ground-to-trailer application best served with 36' ramp including a 6' level off. Note the lip on the top end that is welded onto a frame for long lasting support of 20,000 lbs. capacity as opposed to a flimsy hinged steel plate that doesn't have 20,000 lbs. capacity. Double-action hydraulic pump-the hydraulic system allows for smooth and quick raising of the front lip to the proper dock or trailer height. Simply open the release valve to safely lower the unit into position. The pump is mounted internally to protect it from accidental damage.
