I counted 63 pieces. Quality wood train set with lots of fun accessories. Only drawback is that the only wheeled device that comes with this all is the "S" train. To explain the pic with the 4 pieces: this set was given to my daughter after she had outgrown interest and it came with multiple of the 4 items shown in the zoomed in pic but we don't know if these things actually go with the set (possible mounts?). Set clean.
