Working methods are based on traditional, classical, atelier-style approaches that heavily favor technical aspects of painting and drawing from life. Class is designed for artists who are drawn to representational, traditional “old master” techniques with a contemporary flair. Class is designed to be an entry point for serious artists who cannot commit to a full-time atelier program, or as a support structure for artists wanting to sharpen their skills at an easygoing pace.
Classically-trained resident artist Elizabeth will partner with you and where you’re at in your own artistic journey. Through the difficult practice of carefully observing and working from life, you will gain skills applicable to all forms of subject matter.
Studio is located in Berkeley near Ashby & Shattuck.
