From what I've found out this is an old reproduction of the English Lantern Clock. What makes it special is that it has German movement by Winterhalder & Hofmeier. Winterhalder & Hofmeier were in business from 1850 until 1933 and were renown for their craftsmanship. On the top inside of the frame it says London Made. The gentleman that gave this to me bought it at auction in the 80's and only wound it on a few occasions. Once dialed in it keeps good time and has a cool distinct chime. A local clock shop placed a value of $2400 on it 6 years ago.
