Offered for sale is a breathtaking Renaissance Revival bed frame from the late Victorian era (c. 1880–1900). This is a heavy, high-quality piece crafted from solid quarter-sawn oak with incredible grain patterns and masterful hand-carved details.
This bed is a true statement piece, featuring:
• Intricate Cresting: Deeply carved, pierced-work headboard and footboard topped with acanthus leaf scrolls and central medallions.
• Barley Twist Posts: Massive, spiraling "solomonic" side columns ending in carved finials.
• Decorative Paneling: Beautiful floral and vine relief carvings across the main panels.
• Original Rails: Includes the matching wooden side rails and cross-support slats.
Condition:
The wood is in excellent antique condition with a rich, warm patina. The carvings are crisp with no major chips or missing pieces. It is structurally sound and very sturdy.
