This exceptional pie crust frame is made up of 4 sections with Albert Herter litho prints. The overall size including the frame is 10 1/4" x 27 1/2", and the measurement from the back of each opening in case you want this for the frame is 6 1/4" x 8 3/4". It has a label on the back of the company that made this frame. The label says: Made by the Manila Co. MFG. Hand Molded Frames, Portraits, Pictures, and Mirrors. 1912 Mission St, San Francisco, California.
These original Albert Herter lithographic art prints were printed in 1913 off of the original paintings that were hung at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. He was commissioned to do seven murals. It was called the "Pageant of Nations. The prints have their original labels on the back with the artist name and the titles. The titles left to right: "Mexico", "Spanish", "Persia", and "The Orient". Albert Herter was an American painter, illustrator, muralist, and interior designer.
The prints are pretty spectacular, including their very ornate borders. Lots going on. There is also gold metallic detail on these prints that I could not get to show up in the photos.
Condition: The pie crust frame is in excellent condition, with no gesso missing. It has the original glass. This frame is a piece of art in its own right. The art prints are clean with no damage.
