This amazing very antique 4-arm Yarn Winder is likely from the early 1800’s, possibly earlier. It is made entirely by hand from oak and other woods, and is all wood pegged - no nails were used. This one is a bit rustic, designed to be used. Yarn winders were created to wind yarn into skeins during the times of cottage industries pre-industrial revolution. The yarn winder is in excellent condition especially for its age! No cracks or broken parts. The gears are in good working order, which is rare for these old devices. It does have a number of tiny wood worm holes, part of the charm and authenticity of being a true antique. It's museum worthy!
Measurements: 43 inches tall to top of the winder wheel, 27 inches wide (the width of the wheel, 26 inches deep front to back.
