This is a beautiful tray/lazy susan with a delicate and intricate design handmade by a Burmese craftsman. My mother (who is from Myanmar/Burma) purchased this tray and brought it with her to the US. This is a large tray, approximately 24" in diameter and can be used as decoration or for use in the kitchen. This tray has never been used and is pristine condition.
For those unfamiliar with the art of Burmese lacquerware, it a very old and delicate Asian art. It involves coating boxes, trays, or dishes made from a coiled or woven bamboo-strip base often mixed with horsehair. The object is then coated layer upon layer with a mixture of sap to make a smooth surface, polished and engraved with intricate designs, commonly using red, green and yellow colors on a red or black background. Each color is a different "level" of etching to reach a different layer of sap.

Authentic lacquerware from Burma is generally very expensive. We are clearing out our house and have a few items we are trying to get rid of. If you're interested in this piece or any others we have, please text me a few good times that work for you to come see it.
