1955 Vintage Mangle/Roller Iron (aka pants press, bügler, sheet press). It's in wonderful condition.
If you secretly or publicly love a wrinkle free pillow case and perfect dust ruffles, Shirley's your girl! Shirley's been around for decades so she's pressed poodle skirts, men’s slacks tie dye wide leg bell bottoms, tunics, muu muus, sheets, and table runners. She also presses pants and shirts. These days, she weekly cranks out napkins, tea towels, sheets, tablecloths, pants and drapes. She's also perfect for those cashmere sweaters you wash in the machine, but want to look dry-cleaned.
She currently lives in the media room, and although she has the cosmetic signs of someone pushing 70 with no vacations, she gets a weekly workout on Sundays when the laundry is done. When she's not pressing, she's used as a tabletop bar and appetizer station (guests think she's a vintage cooler ice cream chest). Note the condition says "good," but it's because of the nicks and age, not because she does not work perfectly. She does!
The family has downsized to a smaller home, and is replacing it with a smaller newer model. Shirley is ready to move on and be with a family who’s looking for a work horse.
She has a standard duplex receptacle socket, so she plugs in anywhere. She can be operated with a hand or a knee (that’s right, there’s a pedal for your knee on the inside left). She's no lightweight. Two strong folks and a hand truck is the likely combo it takes to get her into the truck or car (I was carried here in the back of a 4-Runner.
All original electric parts. Mangle cover recently replaced. 2 speed setting. Pants press setting. Multiple heat settings. She works perfectly! Happy to demonstrate her talents.
UPDATE: Shirley is bound for a museum if no one wants her for active use (how cool is that?), so this listing will go away in May. But I would rather give her to a family to use. She's not designed to sit around and be looked at!
