The detached studio cottage is available for rent starting now. It comes with a kitchenette, bathroom with stall shower, fold-out Murphy bed, a little area for storage behind the bed, desk and a view.
Seeking: One tenant, who is employed, who is quiet, tidy, easy-going, independent, responsible, and friendly.
About the neighborhood: Montclair neighborhood is one of the best in Oakland. It's residential, quiet, relatively safe, and removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown and sketchier neighborhoods. You will need a car to get here. There is one dedicated parking pad for the renter.
About the house: The house belongs to me and my family. We are a married, mature lesbian couple with a 5 year old daughter. Our house is detached from the studio and another flight of stairs past the studio. We go to work, do family stuff, enjoy our hobbies, and occasionally entertain guests.
About the studio: The studio is along the path to our house and down a couple flights of stairs. It comes furnished as shown in the pictures. The kitchenette is small, but has just enough for you to make simple meals. Some dish-ware and cookware are included. The Murphy bed can fold in to make more space when not in use. There's some space behind the bed frame for storage.
The bathroom comes with a stall-shower and a medicine cabinet over the sink. Windows everywhere provide ample light.
Laundry is in the main house where we live. The tenant will get a key to our house and may use the laundry machines during almost all daytime hours. Wi-fi is shared and the router is in our house.
The electricity/gas bill is extra and not included. The tenant pays 20% of the total bill. It ranges from about $40 - $90 per month depending on usage.
Water, wi-fi, garbage, laundry, gardening and everything else is included.
Cats are okay, with a deposit.
