Merritt Bakery and Restaurant (best fried chicken) is no longer around but Portal, Rockin Crawfish, and Pietisserie are here. Also, Philomena along 14th Avenue has pizza and weekend breakfasts).
PUBLIC TRANSIT:
The Lake Merritt BART Station is about 15 blocks west, a 25 minute walk. AC Transit buses run along Park Blvd. Highways 580 and 880 are a short ride away, situated east and west, respectively.
RENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum $5,700 monthly income, verifiable.

UTILITIES:
Tenants pay $70 to landlord for water/trash. Separately, tenants pay electricity, gas, cable TV, telephone, Internet, and disposal of furniture, sofa, mattress.
OAKLAND TAX:
City of Oakland charges $101 tax annually, for their Rent Adjustment Program (RAP fee). Local laws split the responsibility 50% to renters and 50% to landlords. Hence, each year, tenants would pay landlords $50 after landlords paid entire $101 to City. This is separate from rent payments.
