hey, was thinking a retro video games night might be fun. I got a shop in Berkeley with a bunch of tables and chairs. We could probably comfortably setup 5 different gaming stations if we wanted. I'm imagining people just like bring a controller, some games, themselves, and we play some video games for a few hours.
Now I do have a large collection of vintage consoles but I'm all about the convenience of retroarch so, no shame there. Plus, if we do retro game using pcs people can just bring usb controllers - so i'd probably just bring my pc and play nintendo via emulator; you can join me with your favorite usb controller. Now If someone wanted to bring a crt and a console though, wfm i'll play me some pc-engine on the hw too. I'm even fine if you wanna retro game on your nintendo switch - like whatever gets the job done if you ask me, lets just game.
And then, "what is retro" uh, i don't like a lot of rules so, its whatever we want? For me its like 80s/90s, but if its 70's or 00's or w/e I'm sure that's fine too.
Anyway, thought it would be fun to do some in person video gaming. I figure worst case me and you play some games and best case we get a little thing going and have some retro gaming community in the east bay. Interested? just hmu and lmk share some times you think would be good for this kinda thing too. Happy to hear about what kinda games you wanna play too.
