Position:
A Purchasing and Inventory Assistant supports the procurement and supply chain departments by processing purchase orders,tracking stock levels, and coordinating with vendors. This role ensures a business avoids stockouts and overstocking by maintaining accurate inventory databases and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Orders: Create, process, and track purchase orders (POs) and ensure accuracy in pricing and item descriptions.
Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, reconcile physical inventory with digital databases, and flag discrepancies.
Vendor Communication: Coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates, resolve invoice discrepancies, and track shipments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse, finance, and sales teams to align current inventory with business demand
Essential Skills Needed
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (like Odoo) and knowledges in Microsoft Excel.
Organization: High attention to detail to ensure contract and SKU records are accurate.
Problem-Solving: The ability to handle receiving delays or damaged goods and find quick resolutions.
Analytical: Understanding of basic retail math, inventory turnover, and forecasting.
Physical Demand
Ability to sit, stand and walk at work station for extended time periods
Education
High School or AA degree or Bachelor or higher in Accounting or Finance 1 -2 years
experience in finance
