If you have something that sounds good, I trust you can bring it near my place just North of downtown Sunnyvale (on Sunnyvale Ave, between Central and Maude). But first, you must describe its body condition, its engine condition, and last time you smogged it.
It is a given that our current mental health care system needs to be monitored and the research be done by unbiased professionals in order to revamp it to serve both the patient with mental health issues and the public at large in a much more thorough, progressive and diagnoses that can be agreed upon as well as the course of treatment. But in the meantime, we could help in a small way and that's what I'm trying to do.
So, I am asking your help in the way of donations of clothing (sweats, pants, shoes, socks, slippers, robes, nightgowns, pajamas, sweaters, jackets, hats/knit caps, undergarments, etc.), personal items (deodorant, hairbrushes/combs, new toothbrushes, etc.) and misc. items (books/magazines/crosswords, purses, wallets, backpacks, etc.).
Many of the patients are overweight (just so you know, many of the anti-psychotic medications cause patients to have a large appetite therefore becoming overweight), and some are underweight. Whatever sizes you have I'm sure that someone there will be grateful to have it and I can assure you that nothing will be wasted. Also, patients could use Lg. to XXX, jackets/coats, robes, t-shirts (with or without pics/logos), socks, shawls, and big loose bulky sweaters and med. to very large sweatshirts and pants. Please donate only clean items as I live in a small apartment and I'm unemployed and unable to wash lots of clothing.
Since they are in a mental health facility, all clothing and shoes can NOT have any laces, belts, or ties. Like sometimes there are ties on sweatpants but those can be pulled out and they can be held up with just the elastic.
I am willing to pickup whatever you have and take them directly to the hospital for distribution.if you would email me and let me know the day and approximate time you would leave a bag (or bags) or boxes of clothing in front of your residence and I can just swing by and pick them up and deliver them to the hospital.
One last thing, I've made sure that all the donations I bring in are going directly to the patients, and neither the medical or office staff is allowed to take or claim any of the items. I have one administrative person I deal with who is trustworthy and honest, and she is the only one I will release the donations to. If she's not there, then I'll bring them back on the day that she is there. Just so you all know that your donations are getting to the patients they are donated for.

It is so easy to clean your home, make room and have fun. Many people have a garage sale. Collectors are always looking for someone else's unwanted items. I am looking for LPs, Records, Phonograph Albums that you no longer want. Don't garage sale them, get them picked up from your home, all together in one bunch. I will pay CASH!
So PLEASE do email me with your location, the total number of LPs or 45s, their condition, the names of some of the artists/bands and your asking price for the whole lot. This will save us both from bouncing emails back and forth. I'm only asking for an ESTIMATE, you don't have to send me a complete list of names and titles (although I do appreciate that!)
We found turkeys on sale today for less than $10 each. Cranberry sauce is on sale 10 for $10. Boxes of stuffing: 2 for $5. Yams: $2 for a family size can at the grocery outlets. If 100 people donated $10 worth of groceries or turkeys, more than twice the current number of baskets could be prepared this year! The need is very high. Currently families are being turned away who would truly benefit. We are posting here in hopes YOU might consider making some contribution this year and helping make Thanksgiving not only possible, but enjoyable, for more families in our community this year.
Although the baskets are not being prepared until Sunday, November 22, it would be best if donations were received sooner than later such that we can know for sure if any more families will be able to be served this Thanksgiving. The boyfriend decided to not come back from the valley of stepford wives and close-minded thinking. I had to move out of "our" home and my new place could not accomodate my sweet boy, who was nearing 50lbs and at the end of his destructive phase. In the course of our time together, many pairs of shoes were destroyed, the mattress had a huge crevice and the couch was taken to the dump, due to lack of seat cushions. And my sweet dog, went to the ex.
Examples: pasta jars, pickle jars, flower vase (with thicker glass), and Starbucks frapuccino drink bottles. ** NO beer /wine bottles or anything that is shaped as such.**
I don't need their lids and the stickers on them, but leave them on if you wish.
So, before you throw these containers into your recycle bin, contact me and I will pick them up.
