We are a short walk from a public swimming pool, track, tennis courts, library, a beautiful bike path, and a number of lovely parks.

You really do not need a car here, as there is so much within walking distance - the Gourmet Ghetto, UC Berkeley, fantastic shopping districts, etc. San Francisco is half an hour away, via BART. However, if you do have a car, parking is plentiful on the street. Yosemite is less than 4 hours away, and beautiful beaches are about an hour's drive. Lake Tahoe (Sierra Nevadas-great skiing) is also less than 4 hours from here. It is easy to get to our house from the San Francisco and Oakland airports via BART.

We have two very sweet cats, Ken and Skipper. They need to stay at home when we swap, but are very easy and low maintenance. |Our past swap partners have really enjoyed the cats. If you want to go away while you are staying here, they can be locked in the downstairs area with food and water for several days. We would be happy to look after a pet or two for you, however, we are not able to consider your bringing pets to our home.

The house has interior stairs, and is not child-proofed, so it is not suitable for small children.

We are flexible about timing and location (we love the beach, but are not interested in snow). We are interested in swaps within California (for long weekends, etc), as well as long-distance opportunities. We want to be in a neat, clean, well-maintained home, in a safe and interesting area, with services close by. Your place must have reliable wireless internet access. We have a 3 bedroom, 1 bath charming Victorian home in Santa Cruz about 1 mile from the beach and downtown.
Walking distance to the health food store and many other shops, yet in a quiet tree lined neighborhood.
We are looking for a one week exchange over the holidays, any time between December 20th and January 3rd (flexible) .
The bedrooms all have either a queen or double bed. We have a large remodeled kitchen (country style), great for cooking and eating.
The bathroom is also recently remodeled with floor heating.
The house also has a large living room with a wood stove, wireless internet access, No TV, and a piano.
A large yard and swing set, bikes and boogie boards for kids are also available .
We have 2 cats which would be staying and are low maintenance, just need to make sure they have dry food, for the rest they have a cat door to go in and out.

Tired of wet and cold winters? Want to be somewhere the average day time temperatures are low 60's s to the upper 70's and the average rainfall is minimal. The Phoenix metropolitan area is home to world class golf, shopping and several spring training teams including the Cubs, Angels, Giants and A's. We have the Coyotes, Suns, and Cardinals (yes, I know.. but they have a great stadium where you can see your favorite teams play against them), PIR (Phoenix International Raceway). This area is rich in native American culture and has many cliff dwellings, ancient civilization sites and is home to the Heard Museum. More in to outdoor events? There are several hiking trails that are perfect for a day trip such as Camelback, South Mountain, Lost Dutchman's mine and, Superstitions. Just outside of Phoenix is this Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Desert Sonoran Museum, the airplane graveyard, Acro Sante, Jerome, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon. Lets not forget the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff (Route 66, Skiing, and the Lowell Observatory), and Kartchner Caverns in Benson. Phoenix also offers a really great Zoo and Desert Botainical Museum, Old Town Scottsdale and a variety of festivals that take place between November and March.

I am looking to swap my 2bd/2ba condo in Mesa (Phx Metropolitan area) for your space in Berkeley or Oakland for a seasonal swap (winter) while I figure out what I want to do with it. My condo is furnished and has a washer/dryer dishwasher, and a large TV and two swimming pools. Your pets (up to three) are welcome in my home. I have a very well mannered lhasa apso/poodle mix who is quiet and is happiest to be with me and possibly two older cats that will staying with me. I have a great apartment in Bernal Heights that I'd like to swap- I need to be in New York on June 16 and would like to stay for about a week, could be more or less and my start/end dates are flexible as I haven't booked a ticket yet. My apartment is very sunny and lovely and comfortable, it has a huge kitchen and a separate, step-down living room and an outside garden/deck area. It is near Cortland Street which has everything (cafes, restaurants, etc.) and is easily accessible by public transportation to anywhere. Great house swapping opportunity in beautiful Tepoztlan, a small historic Mexican town and artist community which is 1 hour from Mexico City and 1/2 hour from Cuernavaca. I am a mathematician with a post-doc position in Berkeley from August 17 through Dec. 18.

Fully furnished 2bd house. The house is above the town with a view of the mountains, about fifteen minutes walk from the center, which has a beautiful market square, artisans market, and excellent restaurants. It is a prefect work place if you have to write and concentrate. There are good spanish schools. Also close to hiking trails and with excellent yoga instructors.

The house has beautiful artisanal furniture and includes wireless internet, a washing machine, fully stocked kitchen, and cleaning service that includes washing and ironing of clothes 3 times a week. The property includes a parking space. The house is on a property with two houses, a big green area and a lot of fruit trees and flowers. The neighbors-landlords are very nice local people. Dogs are allowed as long as they are well behaved and friendly. One garden is closed in order to keep pets in.

We would like a small house- studio with internet in or around the Berkeley area, we have two dogs, which are large, but are well behaved. Ideally we could have an closed outdoor area to leave the dogs when we are out, we are willing to pet-sit and take care of your dogs while we are there if they are friendly with other dogs.

I am 33 and my husband is 41. My husband is graphic designer, directs a traditional street theater group and teaches traditional art to kids.
