About us: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) is the contemporary arts center anchoring the arts district at 3rd and Mission in downtown San Francisco in the beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens. YBCA presents bold and innovative contemporary visual art exhibitions, performances, film/video screenings and community engagement programs that provoke dialogue on the vital issues of our time.
About the Internship: This is unique opportunity to work with an in-house IT support team in a creative environment. The IT Internship will enable the student to gain "hands-on" experience while working with a diverse, accomplished staff of Curatorial, Artistic and Administrative professionals. This project will provide an opportunity to gather software requirements, prototype, build, deploy, and refine a complete, self-contained information system using MS Access, Visual Studio, PHP-MySQL, SQL Server, or other similar platform. The solution will include:
* complete inventory tracking for all IT equipment
* efficient use GUI and client-server architecture
* time frame to finish in 90-days
* data entry, validation, and security
In addition, related duties will be assigned to support the project and the IT Department in facilitation and completion of the project.
The time for this project will consume 10-20 hours/week and will qualify as hands-on real-world information systems construction and training.
