Hi! I recently started a punkrock showgirl dance troupe called The Bombshells, and we are looking for new dancers. I am especially interested in women who have some dance training and who grew up (and/or are currently in) the punk scene. There is no significant compensation (yet!) but we have been performing an average of 1.5 times per month, and have done shows all over this city, including at Hubba Hubba Revue, Burning Man, DNA Lounge, fundraisers, etc. We rehearse in SOMA on average every other week. Oi! The Bombshells are a San Francisco-based punkrock showgirl troupe. Think the Rockettes meet the Suicide Girls. Fringe meets combat boots. Fingerless gloves meet jazz hands.
Proudly named after the Operation Ivy song 'Bombshell,' the troupe performs cabaret, showgirl, and burlesque-inspired moves to classic punk, post-punk, ska, and ska-core songs.
As with all things punk, The Bombshells shows often offer political and social commentary, but fuse this irreverence with sweet showgirl flair, fringe, and feathers.
