Position Overview:
• Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the initial focus of this position will be on the content acquisition technologies. Upon gaining more experience, the scope may be extended to building new functionality for the store itself.

The primary job responsibilities include:
• Contributing to the design, development, and operations of the content acquisition backend. Focus on improving the functional capabilities, throughput, and automation of the content acquisition process.
• Adding functionality to the content acquisition dashboard application.
• Improving logging, error handling, metrics, and monitoring of every stage of the content acquisition pipeline.
• Effectively communicating with other developers, QA, product managers, and content operations staff.
• Participating in the on-call rotation for the operations of the A2Z systems.

Required Experience:
• BS/MS in CS or equivalent.
• At least 5-7 years professional software development experience, with at least 2 years developing scalable web applications on a Unix-based platform.
• 2+ years of Java development experience.
• Good scripting skills and experience in Shell, Perl, Python, or PHP.
• Good developer-level knowledge of SQL. Experience with Oracle is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux, Apache, J2EE, XML, web services, the internet protocols, and distributed systems are all big pluses.
• A proven ability to learn and adopt to new, complex development environments.
• Superb analytical skills, excellent communication, strong team ethic, and attention to details - be meticulous!
