Job Purpose Summary: Under the direction of the Asset Protection Manager, the Security Guard is responsible for the protection of assets of Goodwill and assist with the implementation of the loss prevention program.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist with enforcing Agency policies and procedures for loss prevention. Ensures that loss prevention policies and procedures are followed by Goodwill employees. Report all non-compliance to Asset Protection Manager or Director of Risk Management.
• Support Store Management with all loss prevention matters
• Protect employees and facilities from internal and external deterrents
• Report any hazardous conditions to management immediately
• Ensure security of locations and production areas
• Contact alarm companies for any security matters
• Perform daily video camera operations
• Conduct tours of premises to prevent vandalism to properties
• Follow Agency guidelines in Emergency situations. Works with Police Department and Management to deescalate volatile situations.
• Complete Loss Prevention Incident Reports on all incidents
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
• Two or more years of security guard experience
• Knows locations and functions of circuit breakers, sprinkler system shut off and gas valves
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Able to lift 25 pounds or more
• Ability to anticipate and quickly adapt to changing needs of the work environment
• Must wear telecommunication equipment and be able to be on call 24 hours
Education, Certificates and Licenses:
• High School Diploma or GED Certification
• Satisfactory criminal history background check: a satisfactory background check requires that the applicant have any prior criminal history
• A valid California’s driver’s license as required by law and able to be insured by Agency’s insurance carrier
• Security guard certification preferred

• The work is not sedentary and requires standing and moving for long periods of time.

• Work is performed in a typical office setting, but may include activity in the Agency’s retail store and production areas. The office noise level is usually low. The noise level in the retail store and production areas are moderate.
• Occasional lifting and carrying articles as files or items weighing at least 25 pounds.
