There are less and less kids to fill schools and less and less money to pay for them. We spend less per student than most states, yet expect miracles. Do we get our money's worth for the pittance we do pay? Maybe not, but we don't pay much compared to other states. Thus, we are 46th in the US in quality of education. Blame immigration, blame lame ass parents, blame teachers unions, but let''s face it. We don't CARE enough to develop a decent public school system in this state.
How do we do that? We laugh - she has a wicked sense of humor and I laugh easily. She puts up with my quirky, dorky sense of humor. We are imperfect and understand that.
We have sex on a very regular basis - not selfishly, but in a giving way. When one of us needs it, the other gives it. That makes it way more fun and way more frequent. We find we both need it and that's great.
We take care of our kids. Having that common purpose is a bond that helps us focus on our common values and on developing them into good citizens and humans who can take care of themselves, demand respect and treat others with respect.
We pull our weight - we have a "traditional" marriage with me as the sole bread winner and her holding down the "fort" - the home. That's tricky these days. I've lost jobs and worked like hell to find new ones. She is always there to support me, not judging me as a failure. I admire the work she puts into holding everything together. She is amazing.
If we fight, we cool off and apologize and get to the point of the matter quickly - we don't hold grudges. We communicate openly and honestly.
I feel so lucky, regardless of how tough these times are and may become. I know I can trust her to be here for me and I work hard to be here for her. This isn't a singular recipe for success - everyone's different. But, for us, it works. I love her so much and am so damn lucky.
That doesn't mean everyone needs or should go out and get a college degree. Technical training of any sort in your field of choice is a great step towards success. Some people are built for business at an early age - they get their training from some mentor at a young age and find success quickly. That's really apprenticeship - the oldest form of education.
College is only a GOOD answer for those headed towards fields requiring it. People who study their asses off in a field and never find happiness aren't a case against college, they are a case for the oldest of advice given to humans: Know thyself.

No matter how well you wipe, clean hair will soak in liquids and oil from feces much more than skin does. That's why after people wash the hair on their head, no matter how much they rinse, a smell of shampoo still lingers. It's also that way with butt crack hair, the smell of feces will linger longer than if there isn't hair, and things can get tangled up in that hair (toilet paper/dingleberries and small bits of feces). Plus butt crack hair makes more work of wiping and wastes more toilet paper. The French have a better idea of cleaning with bidets, but since most of us Americans don't have bidets and use TP the better solution is to remove the butt crack hair.
The only negative is, if you're a heavy person or have fatty butt cheeks that press together tightly, that area will probably sweat excessively. So it's probably not a good idea for everybody to remove that hair, unless they wedge something between their cheeks to allow some air into that area. Probably, preferably something disposable, like toilet paper or napkins.

On the contrary, Obama was a professor of Constitutional Law at Harvard and knows how to protect it. Bush on the other hand said on more than one occassion that the Constitution was just a piece of paper. Bush also implemented signing statements which basically said "This law does not apply to me." - Obama hasn't done that nor do I expect him to do so.

I travel all around the bay area to use my laptop and hear a lot of the 45-55 crowd bitch about paying taxes, many of them Democrats. They try to convince each other how not to feel guilty basically by reasoning through how unfair taxation is to them so as to justify not supporting the American worker. This is extremely disheartening to me to witness since I have been a lifelong Democrat and have worked real hard to build valuable skills. I don't think anyone is for taxes but the truth is without taxes, America would not have been able to build such fine institutions and infrastructure as it did.
Yes, you are correct as well about the soundbytes and arguments you hear from the libbies you are speaking about. They will say they are against trickle down economics but also say 'well we get sales taxes from those poor Mexican families'. The corporations support this position since figure many middle class Americans hit a utility point and are left with two choices to get rid of the stuff so much was invested into. Either we go to war with a country to open up new trade markets to buy our stuff overseas like we did with South Korea or we let a bunch of poor people in to shop here.
I really appreciate you doing something you see beneficial to the American worker which I have not seen many on the left doing. The thing is if you saw the minimum wage enforced around the world, it would level the playing ground. I was a productive middle class member of society and have lost everything being literally forced into poverty and homelessness and no one here seems to care. Lately I've seen a lot of blather about illegal Mexicans (and others from Central America) paying taxes. Or anyone here illegally from any country, for that matter?
First off, how does one pay taxes when one has false documentation, like a fake Social Security card? Hmmmmm? Why would any employer be stupid enough to use what he or she KNOWS is falsified identification, and KNOWINGLY be party to felonious behavior? No, employers who do take "deductions" pocket the money, in one fashion or another. And as far as the bullshit line "Republicans want them for cheap labor" - ask yourself - how many liberal business owners do YOU know here in the Bay Area who use illegals? Hmmmmm? Of course, the lib business owner usually justifies and rationalizes it by patting himself or herself on the back for being a humanitarian, and likes to show off his illegal workforce as a symbol of some sort of diversity conciousness. But, just like the conservative business owner, the liberal business owner pockets the deductions he takes from his illegal workforce, knowing they will never find out or do anything about it.
Secondly, the vast majority of them make minimum wage, or just above that, and if they WERE to pay into the system during the year, they would get more back at the end of the year than they put in.
I recently brought this points up to a couple of libbies I know and left them sputtering with NO REPLY. They then fell back to their second line of defense - "Oh, but illegals spend lots of money in local economies, and the government makes a lot more in sales taxes!!" .......... Hmmmmm ............. To which I replied "Isn't that called supply side, trickle down economics?" Once again NO REPLY.
They then fell back to their third line of defense, the old "illegals doing jobs Americans wont do" - yeah, I guess if I was faced with my wages going from $25 - $35 /hr. to $8 - $10 / hr., I wouldn't want to do my job either. So where is the political party - (you know, the one that claims to be for the workers and the poor) - sticking up for their core constiuency? Oh, I guess standing up for the workers and the poor is passe; it is now de rigueur to stick up for a bunch of people who have no validity, legality or rights. Yep, the dems gotta have those usefull idiots from south of the border - they already have all they can get legally in this country.

I'm a woman and don't have any tattoos. Very proud of it in fact. The last two men I have dated both had tattoos, but when they learned I didn't have any, praised me for it. They went on to say they are old school and don't like tattoos on women. Think it looks trashy. One even said how much he hated the tramp stamp his former long time girlfriend had. You are completely wrong. The Christian position is that all sex is limited to a married couple, one man and one woman. I have no problem with what any religion or non-religious person believes and practices, but the HYPOCRICY begins when a group wants to tell others how they should live (even to the extent of working to get laws passed), while NOT PRACTICING IT.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, this forum is called "rants and raves" - this means that you can pretty much rant or rave about what you want. This isn't the "ad hominem forum" or the "attack the guy who has an opinion forum" - it's meant for people to express their opinions.
The fact is there is no scientific coorelation between those who like tattoos and those who don't. However, in my personal experience, 99% of the people who like them who are women are women with little in terms of self esteem, have issues with their identies and are looking for a way to stand out from the crowd. It's almost a form of self-mutilation. Sure there are religious tattoos and the like and frankly if you have those, that's fine. I just don't find women who put a wreath around their fat bellies attractive and I find other such tattoos to be in poor taste.
Many women don't think short term or even long term thinking that the world has to accept them. Lots of companies don't want people with tattoos - it portrays a poor image for their company. You don't like them - don't shop there but they are here to stay. Another poster said that a Jew can't be buried in a Jewish cemetary with a tattoo - then the pro-tattoo crowd went over the top.
This is why the anti-tattoo crowd finds the pro-tattoo crowd such idiots. They confuse a perfectly reasonable opinion and then immediately take up arms as if you're killing their child or attacking them personally. The true losers here aren't the anti-tattoo crowd, it's the pro-tattoo ones who think that they can shut people up by attacking them. The last time I checked, we live in the United States where we do have the freedom to express our thoughts and this is Craigslist - not your private stomping ground.
Long story short, if you want a tattoo that's fine - I don't want to see it, I don't like seeing it and I don't want you to tell me about it. This means you have the right to have it, you can do whatever you want with it and that's fine too but it does not mean you attack me, my family or my friends/associates because you feel that I am attacking you. If you choose to make it personal, I will make it personal -- so as of now, don't or you will be atacked back because you know what, you read this post, it's assumed you understand this post and chose to ignore it. Therefore, I choose not to give you a grain of compassion.

I have a BSIT and a MBA and I can't find one job. This is just a joke. I"ve worked really hard to get to where I am today and no one is recognizing my efforts put forth. What the hell is this country coming to? We outsource everything, in-source foreigners choosing them over US citizens. Now I'm ACTUALLY contemplating going for my Doctor of Business Administration for lack of anything better to do.; Jesus, I'm already negative monetarily, but there's nothing NOTHING for me to do except continue to go to school. It just NEVER ENDS.
Also, How come our army was not able to see his tell-tell signs....I mean his beliefs of obeying a Sharia law VS the US constitution is reason enough to get fired specially from the senstive jobs with army AND on top of that we were sending this nutcase to Afghanistan..What gives here????.....Bring Nidal Hassan's supervisor to me also...we need to chop his balls off too for not staying on top of the issue..We could have averted a major tragedy and loss of innocent lives if we had fired his ass long time ago from the army.
