I went to go see this sweet boy today. He's sooo happy to see anyone who comes to his kennel. His is so full of love and happiness. I would take this boy in a heart beatif i didn't already have three dogs. I'd say he's about 2 or 3 years old, he's fixed and up to date on his shots. Waldo is such a great looking dog, he's a stunning dog. He knows his basic commands, so I'm sure he's had previous training possibly in his old home. He is fine with other dogs but doesn't seem to get a long to well with the one's he lives with. He likes to be the king of the house, so should probably be an only dog. He would do fine in a home with kids 12 and older.. He is all about kisses and belly rubs. This dog will make someone VERY happy. Cats unknown. With my service, a maximum of 2 dogs will walk with me at any given time, allowing the opportunity for extra, personalized care and attention. I've been around and owned dogs all my life, and I am kind, caring, and respectful of your dogs' individual needs, whatever they might be.
If you work early and your best friend needs some morning exercise, dog walking is the way to go!

Morning walks and runs (if your dog needs a little bit extra exercise) are available in:

He will be 7 years old this December, and a very sweet kitty. He is pretty independent, and loves just laying around all day in the sun or on the bed. Sometimes he gets in a cuddly mood, and gives kisses my tapping his forehead against yours. He loves being scratched by the base of his tail. Lately though (the past 2 years) he has taken to hiding under the bed, I think due to several bad encounters with the dog and other cats. He would do best in a home with no dogs, and probably no other cats. He has successfully lived with one other cat his whole life (usually just ignoring each other, although they have been caught spooning now and again). But the other cat he lives with he will instigate fights with. We have found pieces of his nail in the other cat's forehead. Things have been like this for almost two years now. We have been trying to keep them all separated for safety, but now live in a much smaller space, and it is not possible to keep them separate any more. He has also encountered other cats in his life when relatives have come to stay, and I can say pretty surely that he doesn't love other cats, but after the initial hissing greeting, he became able to cohabitate with them. These were only for brief periods of time though.

He is, and always has been an indoor cat, and I am insisting that he go to a home where he will remain indoors. He is neutered, and I can provide medical records for vaccinations. He has never had to go to the vet for anything but his routine check ups. He is a very healthy weight (around 8 lbs last time he was weighed) but he looks a lot bigger than he is because of all his long black hair. He does require regular brushing or a haircut every couple months or his hair will get matted. There is a re-homing fee of $125. Please respond with a little information about yourself, and your household if you think you can provide this wonderful cat with a new home.

Please don't respond with hate mail, I am truly trying to do the best thing for all the animals involved. I think that the other animals in the household with be more relaxed without him around, but most importantly, I believe he will be more happy in a home where he can be the only cat. I have seen his personality change so much, and I can even see it change briefly when the dog is not home, or the other cats are nowhere around.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is trying to find a foster home for a shy 4 month old female terrier mix. We think she will be 15-20 pounds as an adult. She arrived at the shelter with 3 siblings and they have all been adopted, but the shelter felt that Mitzi was too shy to be adopted from there and would do better in rescue. We would like to take her but need to find a foster home that has time to take care of a puppy; she can't be left alone for a standard workday. She is shy but warms up quickly and likes tummy rubs.

Grateful Dogs Rescue will pay for the vet bills, a visit with a behaviorist if necessary, and pays for or loans most supplies. We ask the foster parent to pay for food, but mostly to supply love, attention, and a little training.

100 Gallon + 40 Gallon Glass Fish Tank (excelsior / outer mission)

I have two fish tanks up for sale that I really want to get rid of because it's been sitting around for awhile now. Must be picked up on Thursday(11/19), Friday(11/20) or Saturday(11/21) any time, unless you want to come between the hours of 9am-12pm Sunday-Wednesday.

-100 Gallon Glass Tank ($50.00)
This tank was originally used for a project I built into a vivarium which housed my poisonous dart frogs (attached pictures), but can also be used for fish. I no longer have my frogs so I need to get rid of the tank. This tank NEEDS CLEANING and does have silicone residue stuck on certain parts of the inside of the glass that needs to be scraped off (or not if you don't care). It comes with a light fixture that'll be included w/ lighbulb.

-40 Gallon Glass Tank ($20.00)
This tank has been sitting around in my garage for awhile now. It was previously used to house some of my tropical fishes (long gone now). I don't want it anymore and it's just taking up space. Has water stains on the sides of the glass. Use lemon juice + razor to clean (or not if you don't care) Please take it off of my hands.

Attached are pictures of the 100 and the 40 gallon glass tanks, and although it looks really clean in the picture, it isn't ALL THAT CLEAN (especially the 100gallon). MOST IMPORTANTLY, they both hold water.
Attached is also a picture of what my 100gallon tank used to look like.

Gorgeous 6-year old gray tabby King Kot and his long-haired black Queen Kosia, also 6, are spayed and neutered, but prefer to stay together. They would graciously accept your loving home if you provide their basic needs.

The king is great for kids, never scratches or bites,always on his best behavior and is ready to play 24/7. He is the most affectionate feline on earth, he'll jump in your lap as soon as you sit down, will hug your face and drool from happiness as soon as you lie down and even give you a long massage. The green-eyed persian lady of the house is too dignified to chase some string or toy mouse (unless it has catnip inside), but you'd love her silky coat when she asks you to be brushed or carry her around. She is also the warmest blanket for your feet.

Both are in excellent health, trained to scratch only their scratching post and are low maintenance. Both eat dry food (but love cans too) They come with their own beds, automatic feeder and waterer, covered litter box and even first bag of 18 lb kibble and 40 lb box of clumping litter.

Grace was the biggest pup in the litter for a long time until the rest caught up with her. She is brindle with a large white marking on her face. She is playful and likes people although she is a little shy without her litter mates.

She is mostly pit to our knowledge but has the soul and sad eyes of a hound dog that will melt your heart the first time you look into them. When my 3 year old neighbor boy came over she was the first to curl up in his lap and let him read The Pokey Puppy to her. Talk about adorable!

I have well over 70 angelfish, ranging in color from mostly white to mostly black and everything in between!

These fish are far hardier than those you would find in a pet store, and I have a far larger selection of fish in various different sizes.

If you check out my website I have photos of the parents, as well as some of my tanks. I can also try to get some pictures of the individual fish I have for adoption but they are pretty tough to photograph and there are so many different ones that it's hard to get a representative shot.

Waldo is such a great looking dog, he's a stunning dog. He knows his basic commands, so I'm sure he's had previous training possibly in his old home. These rottie sisters are bright, healthy and happy..they are calm, intelligent and sweet natured. These girls are PERFECT. Right?

That's what we all thought too..

Sadly when the girls were left behind at a shelter by an owner who could no longer care for them, It seemed that no one else saw them as perfect..

They sat, day after day, watching people walk by..waiting.. Hoping that someone might take them home.

I guess to some it may seem hard to to adopt two big girls.

They were running out of time at the shelter and were becoming more sad and distressed as the days went on.

Rocket Dog Rescue was scrambling to find a foster home for the girls, finally we had an option thanks to the kind folks at east bay SPCA who gave a temporary home for them for a few weeks.

So, now the sisters are feeling bright again, looking towards a brand new life.

They spend hours lounging in the sun, smelling the daisy's and lazily chasing a butterfly now and again. They are wonderful dogs that have been loyal and friends and are looking to find a homes.

I LOVE these girls.

I know you will love them as much as I do- just meet them and give live a chance.

Smiley is a girl with allot to offer. She wiggles with happiness and breaks into a big happy grin everytime you look at her. She is a wonderful girl that has all that you want in a good dog. Smiley is well behaved, calm (except for the ridiculously cute wiggly dance of happiness), housebroken, and not a barker. She is loyal, devoted, and true.

Smiley (aka shorty) is a wonderful companion and will truly be your friend through thick and thin.

She has dog friends, and does well with dogs as long as they don't bug her. She gets grumpy if dogs harrass her, so dog parks are not her thing. Smiley has met a cat and seemed good with her. She adores all people and really, is pretty much perfect!

Smiley is about 2-3 years old, retriver mix with of unknown heritage.She may have some cattle dog, possibly a sprinkle of pitbull. She is a true american shelter dog. (All the best and the cutest mixed together!)

Grateful Dogs Rescue is trying to find a foster home for a great little mid-sized dog that seems to be made from parts of a few different breeds. He has a beagle head, stout body and big neck and short legs of I don't know what breed, and a shiba inu tail.. He is young, 1-2 years, and probably house trained. If your rescue group doesn't have a website up yet and you want to set up a home page or introductory page which then has a link to the page with the adoptable animals, does that first page have a website address? Or is the only way someone can get to it is through Petfinder.

Also how do you get this set up. I believe our group was registered with Petfinder in the past but our website person quit so it was never followed through on. We keep getting updates on our email from Petfinder which makes us think we are still registered with them. This is making things more complicated because I think we had an ID number or something for our account but nobody in our group now knows it. Maybe there is a way to retrieve this or should we cancel the account and start over.

What is it about "No sales of pets" do people not understand in the craigslist rules. There are so many homeless dogs and cats out there in need of loving homes and here you have people simply trying to make a profit or "recoup" as some of them like to say the money they've put into the animal. People need to take responsibility for what they have done, if you bought a dog and decided you didn't want it and are trying to sell it for twenty times the price you got it for from a kill shelter to the next person you have issues. Animals are members of the family not just some toy you can sell off to get some of your money back when your done with it. You wanted it, you pay for it.

Foxy is a loving, 1 year old female terrier mix (imagine a basenji/jack russell mix... I know, "unique") rescued from being euthanized at the Los Banos shelter. She's very good with people, including children. Probably because of a lack of training and socialization during puppyhood, Foxy does have some issues interacting with other dogs. With submissive dogs and young puppies, she does very well if introduced to them properly and can live with them in the same household (she is currently fostered with another dog, and after 1 week of friction living together in the same household, they are now fast friends and playmates). However, as a very strong alpha personality, Foxy cannot be placed in a home with another dominant dog. Foxy is medium sized at about 30 lbs, potty trained, and crate trained, which means she is used to going into her crate to relax. Like a good terrier, Foxy has occasional energetic playful bursts, but for the most part is even-keeled and very loving. Her favorite pasttime is running up and putting her head in your lap and looking at you with her big brown eyes so you will shower her with affection. Foxy will require an experienced dog owner, and she is free to the right home. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Foxy, please let me know!

I am a foster for a rescue group. A legitimate non-profit will be a registered 501-3c corp. and offences can be reported. I do not pay for food and the dogs always go in for a vet check. This will include spay or neuter and other necessary procedures like blood work or teeth pulling. Add all the costs up and often No profit is made. Some of these animal rescue organizations post pictures of their incoming animals before they even get here! Then they soon post a long description about the animal like it has been put through some sort of vetting process while it is simply feedback they get from the new foster home. These animals are obviously spayed or neutered before they get out of the shelters. The rescue orgs have selected the best of the lot, gotten them for free from a County shelter, had them transported for free and immediately place the animal in foster homes who are then expected to pay for the food. The actual cost of the first series of shots is less than $10 per shot. They claim their expenses are very high but it is disturbing when you break down the rescue's actual expenses. They state they have so much overhead but I don't see it. Why the high rehoming prices if they are not in it for a profit? I just can't imagine walking through life with the heart of person who walks the halls of a County shelter selecting an animal that I have determined I can re-sell because it has some redeeming characteristic and leaving the less cute ones to die. Let's all do our part to help animals in need, but when a group is just flipping dogs for income, let's just call it what it really is.

Your ad sort of touched me ,and I am having a attack of conscious right now so I am going to let you know what happened to you. You see, I worked for a Rescue for many years. What happened to you is that an employee got a phone call from the rescue during your adoption process. Your dog was sold from under your nose as you were signing the papers. This was something that I used to do all the time.
I learned from the best. I had connections at every shelter up and down California to Nevada. I�d call these employees everyday to find out which dogs ware available. I wanted lap dogs, I wanted puppies, I wanted valuable breeds which I could pump and dump. After I made my calls I would take a wad of cash with me. The employees at the shelter would get a �Referral Fee� , most other people would say this was a kickback. This fee would vary depending on the age , breed, ect. A lot of times my contacts would just keep the dogs off the books so I could come and get them. It also wasn�t above us to check ads in the paper and the internet and respond to lost dog threads as the owner for valuable breeds. It amazing how flashing cash in front of someone as a reward made it so much easier to people to give up the dog to us.If they were micro-chipped we would just degauss it.
We wanted small dogs and puppies because they were easy to care of and easy to move. Since we were a non profit we did occasionally bring in the older dog from a kill shelter. We called them our �Show� dogs , as we pretty much just kept them in their cages so we can save face. They never got sold and usually died. They were there to make us seem like were doing the right thing. And we did think that but, deep down we knew we were just working a sales position.
If you ever had a Job in sales you would know that selling is easy. The great thing about being a rescue is that people actually feel good about themselves when they buy a dog from us.� Adoption fees� maybe the greatest term ever for this business. You as the consumer are Adoptiong this poor little homeless animal .The dogs sold themselves especially when you threw in some sob story about where you rescued the dog from We would charge 200 � 500 dollars for every dog. And we always have the answer for any question someone might have.
�why so much?� � this covers spayed/neuter, de worm, shots and microchip � this was already done by the shelter and didn�t cost us a thing. Even if it wasn�t we said that is was. Occasionally we said they had to have surgery for some unknown illness we just made up out of the top of our head. People bought it like crazy .
Many people have asked me about saying � We charge because we want to make sure you can afford your animal.� People are stupid but not that stupid. If a car salesman told you �we are charging twice amount for your car to make sure you can pay for gas� you would probably walk out of the dealership. I never brought this up and only would acknowledge it if the customer said something of the sort ( WHICH TOLD ME THEY WERE ALSO GULLIBLE)
Never bring your kid to buy a dog. I would make sure you paid at least 400 dollars. We also would do other things like say we had a stringent adoption process , that way the customer felt like we sold quality animals and they were well taken care of under our care.
Cash is king in the animal sales world. Most of my transactions were cash and never reported. I was making anywhere form 500- 2k a day. I quit because of a attack of conscious and competition form other Rescues was cutting into my profit margin.

Sometimes Monique is a perfect little princess, and sometimes she can be a little rabbit diva, but that�s perfectly okay and understandable. It�s really interesting watching Monique, and sometimes it seems as if she is seeking perfection. She likes to make her space just right, with everything arranged just the way it should be. Don�t try to do it for her, because you�re not the rabbit. Monique is the rabbit. She can take care of it.

Monique likes being with people who talk with her, take their time, and let Monique warm up to them naturally. Then I am a perfectly nice girl. However, don�t be disappointed if she doesn�t dig getting picked up that much�I�ve never met a rabbit who really does like being picked up. No matter. Monique is perfectly precious and pretty.

We have a 15 y.o. spayed Maine 'coon cat. She has been with us for 13 years but my wife's health forces us to make this choice (She-my wife- has always had asthma- she just grinned and bared it, but now has a permanent form of pneumonia which makes keeping the cat impossible.). The cat is a sweetheart, very affectionate. Maine coons are know as Gentle Giants and while she is only 10-12lbs she has all the sweet disposition and water loving characteristics of her bigger brethren. Leona is a healthy, four year old pure breed German Shepherd female. She is loving, kind and shy. We adopted her when she was one year old and we believe that she's been abused as a puppy.
She's quiet, loves sleeping in the sun, running outdoors and is very friendly with other animals (she loves cats).
Leona loves running at the beach and the park. She's house-trained and doesn't bark unless someone knocks.
Due to her childhood abuse, Leona doesn't trust people quickly. She is anxious when walked outdoors with a leash, and she would be scared of people if she's restrained or cornered.
Leona is never aggressive, and her fear never turned into any kind of deffensive or offensive behavior. She just needs someone who's kind and patient to help her regain her confidence.

She would be happy in a house with an older female (she doesn't trust males quickly) and a backyard where she can run and play. She's a little scared of kids voices, so she wouldn't make a fun pet for kids (when kids come to our place, she hides in her own corner and sleeps).

She is spayed and up to date with all vaccinations.

Essex, a two-year old pit bull/hound mix, needs a home. He's full-grown, and weighs about forty pounds (see picture.) Essex was picked up by by ACC at 16th and Mission in early October.
He's affectionate, attentive and smart. Essex loves to retrieve balls and catch frisbees.
He�s got generalized demodex mange, which he�s being treated for at Animal Care and Control; he�ll need to be given Advantage Multi every week until it�s gone. Mange is not contagious to other animals or humans. He�s responding well to treatment and looking better already.
Essex is a smart boy who knows �sit� and �down.� He�s great on leash, hardly pulls, marks or sniffs, etc. In short, he�s awesome!

Does anyone have any good advice (that works) to get female cats to stop using the entire house as their litter box? I love my girls, who are all fixed, and would never even consider getting rid of them because of this problem but I am getting quite tired of my steam cleaner being my best friend. I have tried everything it seems, I have tried different types of litter, deterrent sprays, I have laid down plastic mats in corners thinking they wouldn't want to go on something that allows their paws to get wet. Please send me any advice that you have. I miss my house smelling nice and fresh and don't want to wait 15+ years before that happens.

Small group puppy classes: This class is for the puppy under 5 months of age at the start of classes (exceptions for age are made for small size/breed and shy dogs). Socialization (supervised play sessions with other pups), puppy problem solving (biting, chewing, housebreaking, separation anxiety, etc...) and obedience (sit, come, stay, off, walking on leash, etc...) will be covered every week in this 6 week course. Gentle methods are taylored to your pups temparment and needs. Classes are held at Ace Dog Sports, a indoor 2,500 sq ft training facility located near the Cow Palace. Class size is limited please feel free to call or e-mail me if you have any questions or to register for classes.

When: This Sunday from 10-11am

Duration: 1 hour a week for 6 weeks
Cost: $160.00 for the course
