Lee, as a professional dog walker I think it's regretful that you find it necessary to denigrate your colleagues in order to promote yourself. There's plenty of business in this town for qualified and dedicated professionals.

Your claim of "one at a time for a better quality dog experience" exposes your lack of understanding of basic canine behavior. Dogs by nature are social animals and if screened properly and deemed qualified for group walks can thrive! Your accusations of "mystery vans going nowhere", "infections" and "maulings" are baseless and amount to nothing more than fear-mongering.

Furthermore, as a certified dog walker I've studied:
* pack management
* dog communication and body language
* aggression in all its forms: what it means, how to prevent it, and what to do about it
* safety and fight protocols
* basic training: build reliable sits, recalls, and polite leash behavior
* client and dog screening
* public relations
* small business practices: liability protection, marketing, increasing profits, and legalizing your business

Like all occupations, you'll find professional and "not so professional" people working in this field. The truly qualified will succeed and prosper.

About a month ago, my friend's funny calico cat went missing in the Mission right when he was moving out of town. We're guessing she decided to make her way back from her temp spot on 22nd St and Bryant to her old apartment near Lexington and 18th St. But who knows, right?

Anyway, I'd like to keep on the lookout for her. She's calico with white belly and mostly white paws, save for a black spot on her left back paw. And she's a talker going by the name of Cowboy.

The plan was to rehome her anyway, so if you've sort of adopted her, that's great. Just let us know by responding to this post.

I am directly accross the street from a fenced-in dog park on Collingwood street. I am only a 10 minute walk from Dolores Park, too.

If your dog likes to be brushed and combed, I will do a fine job here, too. I am adept at ball throwing (with special ball chuck), rope pulling tug-of-war, and lots of rubbing. I also have wholesome biscuit treats. We go for play-time 3 times a day, unless your dog prefers less or more.....I taylor the activity according to your dog's specific needs/desires/energy.

I have years of experience caring for dogs. I grew a over-night dog-care business over a 3 1/2 period of time, in my live-work loft in SOMA, until the building sold, and I was forced to move. I am now in a fine flat, and am allowed to have one dog at a time. So your dog will be pampered. Among my clients include veternarian's dogs, doctor's dogs, and other professionals dogs.

I have experience with older dogs, but you must consider that there are 8 steps up in the front. If your dog is 30 lbs or less, it is possible for me to carry him or her on the stairs.

Only dogs that are beyond the house-training stage, and are NOT big on barking, and do not have separation anxiety. Up-to-date on shots record from your vet is required, and a interview visit (just like all the other professional dog care facilities) I welcome well-behaved dogs. A simple short registration form is also required, which will help me in caring for and feeding your dog.

I am a substitute teacher, but will not be teaching when I care for your dog.
My rate is $85.00 for a 24 hour period.

Is one of the ladies running this "rescue" named Sarah Vail Fox? If so she has already been convicted of internet fraud in Colorado and several people in S. California have gathered extensive amounts of information on her and are building a case with the attorney general. She has operated under many different "rescue" names and alias's. Her scams date back to 2000. It's estimated that in 2007 she managed to scam over $100,000 from innocent people who thought they were adopting.

Gracie is a little fireball! She is small but very active, always the first to catch any toy that moves. She is fostered with her sister Cassie (search for separate CL post about her)

Gracie has the most unique coloring. Her coat looks different depending on which way she is facing. These pictures don't do her justice. I thought she was all gray and white at first but she has a light buff color in there too. And she has a small round spiral on on side, near her belly area. If I can get her to hold still I'll try to get a picture of it.

She and her sister love to wrestle and chase each other. And they always sleep together. They loves to play but also likes pettings. Especially the ear rubs.

We are looking for a home that will adopt them together. They are fostered in San Francisco.

Ginger is a sweet and loving girl. She was found on the street in Richmond and brought to us. We did the stray hold and when no one surfaced; we adopted her out. She was returned by her first owner for excessive mouthy behavior. We felt the owner may bave been inexperienced and decided to adopt her out again. She was returned after a few months because the adopters felt she needed a yard to run around in, she seemed stressed in the house and always wanted to be outside. They didn't have a yard and felt that made Ginger unhappy. Her third adopters (who we thought were good) used correction training on her and returned her for lunging at a carpenter who came into their yard. Her fourth adopter returned her for getting into an altercation with her dog.

So, what we have here is actually a very sweet, very deferential girl who just needs the right person. People seem to give up on her right away for various reasons. Ginger would probably do best with someone who really understands dog behavior, perhaps a graduate from one of the Behavioral schools in the area. She is NOT a bad dog and has never bitten anyone, nor has she hurt another dog.

We feel that she needs an experienced person who can see that Ginger is really a lovely girl who needs some structure, training, guidance and someone who believes in her.

I've got a few openings in my group walks. I take my packs into the Presidio where we do off leash hiking for about 30 minutes and then let them play for the remaining 15-20 minutes.

Hello I have a 3 year old Chihuahua named CO-CO that I adopted from this site 8 months ago she is a very sweet baby but has a licking disorder and pants all the time .I have been trying to get in touch with the person I adopted her from but he will not return my phone calls nor answer his phone when ever I call. I just need to talk to him to get a history on CO-CO and to see if he had any test on her in the past and if so please advise me of where and what the findings were.
