DJ TechTools, the #1 hub for DJ technology and information, is looking for smart and driven people to join its editorial team as a part time intern.
The ideal candidate is a digital DJ interested in pushing the boundaries of DJ performance, with some previous writing and/or editing experience, as well as the desire to learn and/or pursue technology journalism. Following a successful completion of the internship-you will receive a VCI-100 Arcade controller (value at $10 per hour. 2 interns will be selected for full time positions as a writer or editor with Dj TechTools from this batch of interns.
As a part of the Editorial team, you should plan on writing/producing 2-3 articles per month and working with the rest of the editorial team, outside writers and the founder to produce cutting edge videos and articles that continue to re-shape the dj industry.
Details of this job include
* Planning a publishing schedule for the site's blog along with the company founder.
* Coordinating and assigning articles, including acquiring equipment for review; setting up and performing artist interviews, recruiting new contributors, managing and editing the current contributors, setting and sticking to deadlines.
* Monitoring and responding to reader feedback for new story ideas.
* Keeping up with the latest DJ technology news and performance methods.
Interns are expected to work 2 times per week for 5-8 hours each day from the Dj TechTools office in SOMA. Some remote work from home will be possible.
Required:
* Experience with modern DJ technology, such as professional DJ software, mixers and MIDI controllers.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, including English grammar proficiency.
* Ability to work efficiently on your own.
* An inherent need to get the facts right and serve the audience with innovative ideas.
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic and the patience and to roll with the fast pace and evolving nature of a growing start-up company.
Helpful:
* Experience with Photoshop, photography and shooting/editing video.
* Computer music production experience.
* Knowledge of modifying electronic equipment, especially DJ mixers and controllers.
