PERFORMING ARTS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
The position is responsible for: managing all the areas of theatrical production, including the costume and scene shops, the Experimental Theater (ET), Recital Hall and all other designated performing arts spaces in the Communications Building; managing the production budget and technical theater budgets for all academic productions; independently solving technical problems as they arise; supervising technical staff for theater and production support, and student staff in the scene and costume shops and performance spaces; coordinating and managing the use of the performing arts production facilities with faculty and staff; recommending and implementing policies and procedures for facilities use and allocation of resources.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre with a minimum of five years of academic and/or professional experience in technical direction; or, a Master’s Degree in Technical Theatre/Design with a minimum of three years of academic and/or professional experience in technical direction.
Candidates with training and experience in non-western or non-traditional performance, performance art or experimental theatre are urged to apply. Experience working within a diverse artistic environment and collaboration with artists and faculty of diverse races, genders and sexualities is also desired.
Salary Range: $3,293 to $4,322/mo F/T + excellent benefits package.
