Job Description:
The Senior Visual Designer is a key player in determining the future design and user experience on MyNewPlace.com and the companys other Web related products. As a member of the product marketing team you will work with product managers and marketing managers on design mock-ups, interactive prototypes, specifications, and the final assets required for implementation.
The ideal candidate will adhere to strong creative, visual and user-centered design principles; have the ability to explain their thinking; possess strong interpersonal skills; and have the ability to work independently and within a group.
Skills & Qualifications:
Ensuring the consistent visual presentation of MyNewPlace across multiple digital mediums
Mastery of page-level design, particularly for performance marketing, and strong user experience design skills
Translating user feedback or business requirements into onscreen user interfaces
Great communication skills and ability to collaborate with both internal partners and external clients
Strong organizational skills to meet tight project schedules
A solid understanding of web graphics techniques and production practices
A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, XHTML and version control
A demonstrated mastery of typography, color, and layout
A portfolio showing a broad range of styles
3-5 years of professional experience as an artist or visual designer preferably with a consumer brand
BA or BFA in visual design, human factors or interaction design
Experience with A/B testing and multivariate testing a plus
Experience with widgets and social media applications a big plus
Software Skills:
Expert-level knowledge of graphic design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator
Previous use of tools such as Visio, OmniGraffle and Flash for developing visual prototypes is a big plus
