The Attune Foods Consumer Advocate
Attune Foods is looking for a passionate, resourceful, smart, creative, and inspirational person to manage our relationships with our Attune consumers and brand advocates. This person will be tasked with nurturing these relationships – and ultimately growing the number of consumers and fans of the brand online and offline.

About the position
The consumer advocate would wear many hats as the primary liaise with consumers and brand advocates – online and offline.
Online Outreach
• Proactive outreach and management of relationship with online blogger community
• Author and manage the Attune “Digest This” newsletter and e-mail marketing campaigns
• Introducing brand to our target consumers through applicable online channels (Twitter, Facebook, online forums)
• Voice of The Attune Blog
• Owner and nurturer of the Attune consumer database
• Direct and manage Attune communities on Facebook and Twitter
• Update and improve website content on a regular basis
• Nurture, promote and develop viral and word-of-mouth driving initiatives for Attune brand advocates
• Help manage technology vendor for the improvement of Attune website, communication tools, and social networking integration
Offline Outreach
• Responsibility for all inbound consumer communication – by e-mail, phone or letter
• Plan, organize and execute grassroots events to build brand awareness and conviction for the brand
Communications
• Be the Attune communications expert in terms of brand/product information, communications standards, and language/tone/voice
• Become a guru on the world digestive health
• Assist in copywriting, message development, message prioritization, and brand communication strategy – in all aspects of marketing
General Marketing
• Participate in Attune Brand Strategy development
• Participate in New Product Development
• Supporting Public Relations firm in strategy and PR outreach
• Supporting Online / Social Media firm in strategy and technology development
About You (The Consumer Advocate)
• You have an extensive collection of hats; they are all your favorites, and you love wearing them all – sometimes even at the same time.
• You have contagious positive energy that draws people to you, and makes them want to listen to and learn from you
• You have a deep affection for consumers, wanting to see them happy and healthy
• You have given up long sleeve shirts altogether to be more efficient as you were rolling up your sleeves far too much
• Your friends all love you, but tell you that you have (a bit) too much energy
• You are an expert of communications and language…well, at least the English language
• You love using technology and the internet (some examples that should resonate):
---you spend way too much time on Facebook and Twitter
---you have 1,500 friends on Facebook and 4 billion followers on Twitter
---you think Aardvark is the next Twitter
---you have Google analytics attached to your blog
---one of your New Year’s Resolutions was to cut back on your RSS feeds
---you are part of the beta community for too many online tools and social networking sites

• You are an avid foodie – so much so, that the term “foodie” no longer bothers you
About Your Background
• You have a university degree from a school that would impress my grandmother
• You have at least two to three years of experience in a public relations, advertising or social networking/media capacity in a consumer facing sector
• You have a deep thirst and curiosity for knowledge
• Your most recent boss describes you as “annoyingly proactive”
• Demonstrated background in cultivating and nurturing online communities. You have the ability to creatively use social media and Web 2.0 (3.0?) capabilities by proactively seeking out shiny new tools that you consider yourself special for knowing about
• You are supremely capable of thinking through the metrics, objectives and tactics associated with online, e-mail and social networking campaigns
• You dislike the bureaucracy and politics of a large organization, and instead crave the creativity, entrepreneurial feel, and fast pace of a start up
• You think that trying to get the world to eat (healthy) chocolate sounds like a pretty amazing job
This position reports to the Brand Manager and will be based at our global headquarters in San Francisco. The compensation range for this position is $40k to $50k per annum.
