Summary:
Partner with Senior Management Group and Corporate Human Resources functions to direct and manage HR initiatives across the entire company. Develop initiatives to meet business objectives in the areas of organizational development, performance management, employee relations, and associate engagement/retention. Provide input to Corporate HR functions (Training & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Staffing) and carry out company-wide programs.
Job Responsibilities:
• Partner with HR departments and management to achieve business goals and operational objectives of the company.
• Partner with business leaders to develop and implement human resource policies, processes and programs in the areas of: performance management, compensation, HR compliance, organizational design and effectiveness, people development and talent management that will facilitate business solutions and achievement of the organization’s strategy.
• Coach and advise management in the interpretation of HR policy and in making personnel decisions; recommend appropriate actions consistent with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Resolve employee relations issues through a systematic approach and ensure a uniform and consistent application of organizational policies and procedures while maintaining a positive employee relations environment.
• Conduct and lead investigations and assist management in determining appropriate outcomes.
• Manage assigned department budget and spending at or below plan.
• Participate in the establishment of departmental goals and responsible for implementing procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; manage, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the activities of department staff.
• Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of a team of 12+ HR Generalists located at various field offices across the country.
Qualifications:
• Experience with and demonstrated proficiency in conducting HR investigations and handling complex employee relations matters including preparing responses to EEOC charges.
• Demonstrated coaching and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information; strong ethics and integrity.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment; able to take initiative and follow through on assignments.
• Strong influencing, communication and presentation skills.
• Able to operate PC based software programs in the MS Office suite.
• Ability to understand and use HR Information Systems to obtain information, run reports and analyze data.
• Must be able to travel for any duration of time required.
Experience / Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business, a related field or equivalent education required, advanced degree and/or SPHR certification desired.
• 10+ years of increasing responsible experience within Human Resources including a minimum of 3 years managing a staff of HR professionals; experience managing staff in geographically separated business units preferred.
