The Director of Business Development will work directly with our Owner and our Staffing team to increase our overall number of clients and to improve the quality of our service. This position requires a mix of working from home, from our Daly City office and in the field. The objectives of the position are to:

The Clinical Information Services Specialist is a primary resource for Academy members, staff, and the public on information about ophthalmology and eye care and thereby contributes to the strategic objectives of enabling the Academy to be the premier provider of eye care information. This includes using sophisticated search strategies to systematically review the medical literature to provide references for the development of evidence-based clinical documents; answering clinical inquiries from members, staff, and the public; and maintaining the Academy Library, which serves as a resource for all staff and members.

This position will have the opportunity to develop a catalog of electronic resources; learn about ophthalmology and information retrieval methods; provide clinical, demographic, biographical, and statistical information to the CEO/EVP, VPs and other staff as requested; and contribute the most up-to-date and comprehensive evidence-based information from the peer-reviewed scientific literature for the basis of Preferred Practice Pattern® guidelines, Ophthalmic Technology Assessments or other evidence-based documents.

The ideal candidate will be a self starter with a Masters degree in Library Science, excellent customer service and communication skills, and experience as a medical librarian using complex Boolean searches in order to produce either comprehensive or concise results depending on the need.

Responsibilities

• Search medical and grey literature for articles to use in development of evidence-based documents.   
• Obtain copyright permissions from authors and publishers and maintain copyright permissions database for images used in the Practicing Ophthalmologists’ Curriculum and Compass.   
• Answer inquiries for clinical and other information as requested by CEO/EVP, VPs, other staff and members.                           
• Manage Academy Library, including acquiring assets, routing periodicals, routing electronic table of contents, assembling a reading packet for VPs on a biweekly basis, filing periodicals, and managing a budget.       
• Function as the department’s coordinator for the preparation and packing for the Annual Meeting.            
  

Skills and Requirements

• Must have a Masters degree in Library Science and strong experience as a librarian in a technical field. Strongly prefer experience as a medical librarian. 
• Knowledge of library classifications, catalog systems, and needs assessment tools.
• Knowledge of the structure and search techniques of the National Library of Medicine's PubMed database is essential.
• Knowledge of external health organizations, such as the FDA, CDC, NEI, NLM, AHRQ, etc. is preferred.
• Technological competence designing search strategies and using complex Boolean searches with internet search engines, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, Medline, EMBASE, and other databases.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary in order to express ideas clearly and communicate effectively with members over the phone and by fax/letters.  
• Ability to document search strategies in an accurate and comprehensive manner and write about technical topics in a clear, concise manner.
• Ability to hone in on specific search topics and distill the search findings to make searches as precise and concise as possible.
• Ability to troubleshoot situations and analyze why the yield for searches is sub-optimal.
• Experience using automated reference software tools such as EndNote and digital asset management software such as Media Beacon is not required but a plus.

Starting Salary

Requirements
• Completion of a two year course in an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Certified by the State of California.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

• Minimum 2 years working experience required.
• Experience on Hitachi .3T MRI platform not essential, but helpful
Primary Functions
• Responsible for performance of all patient imaging procedures and all patient safety protocols.
• Functions as the first line interface with customer accounts in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
• Convey to patients and explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and to request/assist removal of metal objects which are hazardous to patient and equipment when magnet is activated.

Position
The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation is looking to hire a full-time Grants Officer. This is a new position that will report to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. This position will be responsible for working directly with a diverse range of San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center departments and programs to secure corporate and foundation grants in the range of $1,000 - $100,000 (could vary). This position involves frequent interaction with funders, hospital administration, staff and their respective programs to help them establish and achieve their fundraising goals.

Responsibilities include:
- Identifying, researching, prioritizing and cultivating local, state and national corporate and foundation prospects.
- Writing (and/or editing), preparing and submitting completed grant proposals and reports for an assigned portfolio of programs.
- Entering and tracking data for all submitted proposals and reports as well as prospect notes.
- Managing grants calendar and reporting schedule for entire grants program and other requirements for all awarded proposals to the SFGH Foundation.
- Coordinating site visits and tours between funders and hospital staff.
- Stewarding corporate and foundation donors.
- Assisting Director with proofing, editing and reviewing proposals as needed.
- Assisting other staff with special projects and donor events as needed.

Required Skills and Desired Qualifications:
- 2-3 years previous grant writing/ grants management experience for nonprofit organizations.
- Superior writing, editing and budgeting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
- Ability to set, meet and be comfortable with frequent and strict deadlines.
- Strong sense of self-initiative as well as ability to take direction.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Direct experience in public health, social work and/or health and human services program development preferred.
- Strong sense of humor and a passion to help others.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office programs, Raiser’s Edge or similar relationship database.

PRS is seeking a senior Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) for the andrology lab for the San Francisco site. The CLS will perform semen analyses, including morphology, semen preparations for intrauterine insemination, cryopreservation of human sperm and oversight of sperm distribution. The position may evolve into lab managerial duties if such aptitude and proficiency is demonstrated. Managerial duties include maintaining the laboratory QA/QC program (including proficiency testing, equipment maintenance/calibration, and regular audits of lab operations), training and oversight of technicians, liaising with external testing laboratories, and interacting with clinicians, patients, and donors.

The position is part-time and includes some weekend and holiday rotations in San Francisco (weekend hours are brief) and may also require periodic day trips to our Pasadena office.

Applicant must be lesbian/gay friendly, fluent in English and must possess excellent communication skills necessary for interaction with laboratory personnel and other colleagues. The applicant must be detail oriented, as well as be capable of performing the physical duties required in a cryopreservation laboratory environment (including lifting objects of moderate weight).
