Senior Financial Analyst
Blue Shield of California is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Finance and Treasury department. This role is primarily responsible for the financial planning, reporting, and analysis for Network Management. Network Management is a functional area that manages Blue Shield's relationship with its network of physicians, IPA/medical groups, hospitals and specialty healthcare providers. The position will partner with cost center owners and department leaders to effectively plan and manage operational and project budgets.
Specific Responsibilities include:
·Preparation and ownership of the financials for annual planning and quarterly reforecasts
·Monthly financial reporting and variance analysis
·Month-end close activities including accruals and various other journal entries
·Work with project teams to guide them on the monthly close proces, actuals reporting, and reforecasts
·Identify and drive process improvements to streamline monthly processes
·Partner with business partners to develop cost reduction plans and/or manage to other issues that arise during the year
·Partner with project managers to write business cases to secure funding; own or oversee the preparation of the financials and NPV analysis
·Develop financial models; collect and evaluate data, analyze results
·Complete ad hoc analysis and/or develop new processes for finance managers and business partners; this work may include health care reform requests
·Successfully interface independently with business partners, corporate FP&A, other business finance teams, and accounting at all levels to achieve deliverables
Requirements:
·Typically requires 5-7 years financial analysis experience with a Bachelor's degree or 4-5 years with a Master's degree
·Hyperion Planning/ Essbase experience or some similar budgeting system
·Advanced MS Excel skills & proficiency in other MS Office products
·Good verbal and written communication skills
·Team player with a positive attitude
·Ability to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities
·Able to lead projects from inception to conclusion with minimal guidance
