FRONT OFFICE / RECEPTIONIST
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
This position is responsible for patient check-in, reception, and administration as well as treating all patients in a professional and courteous manner. Review patient charts to verify necessary information and signatures have been obtained. Enter new patient information into computer. Ensure the patient feels welcome to the practice and continues to return in order to receive top quality dental care treatment.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Patient Check-In
Responsible for patient check-in, greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional manner.
Track patients in the reception area and communicate with them, as needed.
Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been received, completed, and signatures obtained.
Ensure that proper authorization or referral is collected from the patient.
Assist patients in obtaining authorization or referrals that have not been received by the practice.
Enter all new patient demographic information into the computer.
Pull charts for the week.
Mark arrival time of patients in office and make sure that patients are seen on time.
Administrative
Place telephone calls on no-show appointments; reschedule as needed.
Provide support on telephones.
Inspect reception room for neatness.
Perform other duties as required.
Assist other front office personnel as needed.

1. Excellent customer service, communication skills and must have good spelling and grammar.

5. Empathetic with patients needs and concerns.

8. Treat patients and co-workers with respect.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in a dental/medical practice is a plus, but not required.
3. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a must.
