Major Duties:
This position is located within the Production Division, Plant Engineering and Maintenance Section at the San Francisco Mint facility.
Repairs, performs trouble analysis, modifies, calibrates, aligns, programs, and installs complex systems (i.e.,) security systems, programmable fire alarm systems, numerically controlled machines, programmable logic control coin presses, computer controlled Robotic coin set assembly systems, computer controlled packaging systems, computer controlled robotic die polishing systems, and automatic labeling systems. Performs operational checks/adjustments and system alignments according to manufactures' specifications to ensure proper sequencing of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems with electronic controls.
Rebuilds, overhauls, modifies, maintains, and tests complex electronic equipment/systems for sensing and control. These include, but are not limited to: mutiple-axis numerically controlled machine tools, computer/programmable controlled automatic coin presses and monitoring systems, internal and external security systems, electronic weighing systems, computer controlled packaging systems, intergrated conveyor systems, computer controlled robotic assembly line systems, computer controlled Robotic die polishing systems, automatic emergency power cut over systems and programmable fire alarm systems. Overhauls, rebuilds, and maintains AC anf DC electronic equipment which includes power distribution lines, motors, generators, and ventilation systems throuhout the facility. Replaces defective wiring, and repairs relays, selectors, automatic control circuits, electronic sensing systems, industrial timing systems and machine safety and control interlock systems. Installs conduit, raceways, wiring and new electrical and electronic systems.
