Position Description:
* Design and implement optical filters which meet customer requirements for gas monitoring, fluorescence microscopy, astronomy, light sensing, projection display, and other applications.
* Develop and/or improve processes for manufacturing optical coatings.
* The assignment will encompass optical coating design, substrate preparation, vacuum-based coating processes such as sputter deposition, post-coating optical metrology, and other processes.
Qualifications:
* B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Optical Engineering or related field.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills.
* Analytical thinker; detail oriented; problem solver.
* Proficient with computers: strong proficiency with MS Excel and Office required, experience with MatLab or similar programming tools desirable.
* Experience in optics, vacuum engineering, and/or vacuum processes highly desirable.
* 0-3 years experience required; 3+ preferred.
